This week's Spotlight is with another YA author. Lauren McLaughlin's books, Cycler and (Re)Cycler, are cracktasticly fast reads that really poke at gender stereotypes. If you haven't read them, I recommend them! Also, she was very fun to interview.

Oyate is an organization that exists to promote honest portrayals of Native Americans, and increasing awareness of Native American history and culture. This is important work, because Native American culture has been historically smeared and repressed in popular American culture. I've never been to a convention, but if I could have managed it, I would have started by attending the Fourth Street Fantasy Convention this weekend. Since I'm not there, I'm hosting my own panel here for today. I won't be able to check in until tonight, but I hope there will be lots of interesting discussion while I'm out.
