HBP Shippy stuff

Harry/Ginny: not terribly surprised, not very interested.

Ron/Hermione: Saw it coming, not very interested.

Snape/Bellatrix or Narcissa?: Possible, but not likely.

Bill/Fleur: Yes, the Weasleys were being horrid to Fleur. I note that she was not exactly trying to fit in at the time--I don't think that was the first time she'd slapped Molly in the face with her hair. (There's a subplot idea for a long-haired Sue...the character who takes an irrational hatred to her because he/she/it keeps getting whacked with the waist-length curls.) But showing a little spine at the right time gets her major cred.

Draco/Moaning Myrtle: I wonder if he knows she's Muggleborn? Harry just never got a clue where Myrtle was concerned.

Tonks/Lupin: A little out of left field, but as a middle-aged man with personality issues and a bit down-at-heel, I don't mind at all. And just because he's finally able to consider seeing someone new after a year doesn't mean Lupin didn't love Sirius.

Filch/Pince: Really out of left field and beyond the fence. But even ugly, cranky old bastards need love too.

Merope/Old Tom: This certainly better explains the father running out on Tommy's mother. Of course, in the USA, he'd still be legally responsible for the child's upkeep, even if he was rapedrugged.

Hmm...Dumbledore really should have realized that young Tom was much too dangerous to run around loose, based on his behavior up to that point. Howsomever...we have the Twins, and their absolutely appalling behavior, and yet they grew up to be considered semi-respectable members of wizarding society. Perhaps the Wizarding World simply has a much higher tolerance for certain kinds of behavior, even if it's officially frowned upon.

Oh, John "Secret Key" Granger called Dumbledore's death in this volume, as part of an "albification process" for Harry. If his interpretation holds true, Hagrid buys it in book seven.
