The bus strike is into its second week, and no relief in sight. The strikers have about a three-month war fund, and there really is no spare money in the budget for management to give them. (Thank you, Governor Pawlenty.) Of course, management would look a little less hypocritical if they hadn't voted themselves a fat pay raise last year.
Walked to work this morning, as my ride was unavailable. Wind gusts up to 35 mph with a base temperature of 12 degrees Farenheit. Eee. Didn't go any faster, either.
Target has announced that it is "considering strategic alternatives" in regards to its Marshall Field's and Mervyn's stores. This is widely believed to be code for "selling." While this does not endanger my job even if it comes to pass (bankruptcy work never stops, just slows), it would be a real shame.
The beach chair I was using for my computer work has collapsed under my weight, and I am now discovering that it was indeed my other chair that was causing my backaches last year. Shopping trip to downtown Target when I get paid!
Anime Detour is March 26-28 in East Bloomington, MN (not far from Minneapolis. I sure hope the strike is over by then because it's still further than I care to walk.
