Yeah, I've not been posting for a bit.
Went to the MAS meeting Thursday last. Stopped at a place named Cane's first, that specializes in chicken fingers. Can't really praise their service--no one was at the counter, or responded to moderately-loud hellos. I had to go back to the kitchen door to wave and let them know people were waiting in line.
Food was decent, though, and their special sauce is tasty.
The meeting agenda (chosen between meetings) was showing snippets of things to be voted for the fall schedule. Some were shoo-in, like Princess Tutu; others were more on the bubble, and I can't really see Ghost Hound as a fan favorite based on the clips--it strikes me as one of those series that takes forever to get anywhere.
marainsanity had gone to Chicago for a convention, and stopped by Mitsuwa to pick up various requests. Mine was for "phonebook" manga. Apparently, the bookstore at Mitsuwa has really cut back their selection, and the only thing she could find of interest was Monthly Afternoon. Aa! Megami-sama is still trundling right along, with a new quirky visitor whose burdens will be lightened by Belldandy's compassion and Keiichi's doggedness. Blade of the Immortal is still running, and a DVD of the first anime episode came with the issue. I really need to figure out to play a region 2 DVD. Seraphic Feather finally came to a close in this issue, though. I could tell what it was immediately from the scene centering on a woman's cameltoe seen from behind. Have I mentioned lately that I was never very impressed with Seraphic Feather? The cover feature was Vinland Saga, which looks cool, seeing as how it's got Vikings.
At work, we're making United Way baskets again. (Each department puts together a themed goodies basket, and they're then raffled off, the department earning the most money for the United Way gets a prize.) This year, our department's theme is "Winter Reading" (books, hot drinks, coffee mugs, bookbag, bookends, etc.) and since our regular organizer will be out of town for the next couple of weeks, I've been put in charge of the project.
My folks' anniversary celebration is next weekend, present already selected.
One sinus seems to be clogged, very annoying.
