Update - Mum

Aug 12, 2008 16:10

She was treated for severeal hours in hospital where they took bloods, checke her oxygen saturation levels (low...) and gave her a chest x-ray to check no major infection is making things worse.

Mum has been allowed home because she is used to dealing with quite severe asthma and has a nebuliser she uses regularly.

She has to nebulise 6 times in the next 24 hours and more after that. This is more than you are really supposed to do and will add palpitations/racing heart to the other side effects (headache, dizzyness, exhaustion) of the strong meds she has had to take today as well as usual stuff.

She seems ok but really, really tired. .
My head is all over the place, glad she is back and is safe but feel like it's been a crazy circus lately. I answered the phone this morning to carelink wanting to install an alert alarm (think pendant alarms modelled by elderly women in adverts where they fall over...)

It looks like its been referred from my care manager but she only said she was refering me to carelijnk, not actually what care link was ;) so not even sure if we have to pay or not yet!

They wanted to come round Friday but at the time I had no information on mum other than she was in hospital and it was bad enough for them to phone my dad to get over to her from work. Just had to explain what had happened and take carelinks number so we can work it out later.
