Opps! I Soiled My Panties.
Yes. yes, yes yes yes! This weekend was the competition and it was really fun! Im so happy!! hehe friday we had our tech, it went bad. poop. Then just hung out at the hotel and went swimming and stuff. We saw 3 shows friday night and 3 saturday afternoon and after them I was kinda skeptical about how well we would be compared to them. The judges hated this one show that was the funniest in the whole competition, it was a riot I didn't stop laughing and the audience loved it! But the judges didn't like it so that was good and then I felt better about us doing good cuz I thought for sure they would win.
The only horrible one was Bangor, hahaha they sucked! and then we performed...
Honestly I wasn't that nervous, except I thought my hair looked bad and I was kinda freaking out about that. We waited forever to go on and right before we did backstage everyone was like your gonna do so good, dont worry and stuff. So that got me pretty pumped. Everyone in the cast enters through the house, but I come on from backstage and they come in snapping and as they are all snapping I really didn't feel nervous, my head was fine, I didn't even have butterflies in my stomach, I felt very prepared. On stage however, I was shaking really really bad, everyone on stage noticed. But my mom and dad who were in the audience said they didnt see. The play went well, I only messed up one line and luckly it didnt effect anything. We almost went over time but Khalan came out and we had to cut my last speech. And we didnt go over time. We were all so happy i have never heard I LOVE YOU ABBIE so much! hahaha it was good, we were all ecstatic.
Critiques went really well. Every judge liked it. This one guy said "WONERFUL" like 10 times!! it was so great and then one said, I think the best performances of the night went to miss Armstrong and whoever played norman. That was so great, just him saying that made the whole week of shit prior to the weekend all ok. They also said my hair and make up was very good too, which amused me. haah. None of them really had anything bad to say.
we waited for a while and then it was the awards ceremony. Rachyl tock me aside before it and talked to me and told me how everyone gets there chance to shine and stuff and how proud she was. It was nice of her, she is mean to everyone and graduated a couple years ago but still comes back to see how we are doing and has never been mean to me.
**At the awards ceremony I got all cast and so did paul, which is where they pick the best actors out of the whole competition. So I was happy with just that and after they had us all sit back down and they say that the judges wanted to do a little something more and said that they have never given an award out for the best actor, ever. And they said that they had an award for the best festival actor and the best festival actress. Everyone like started grabbing for my hands to hold. Then they said it was a tie in both categories. My hands were being squeezed so hard, and then I heard them say, for best actress from the chronicles of Jane... and I couldn't hear the rest cuz everyone stood up and started cheering and flipping out and i just stood there and didn't move, and everyone was like, "Abbie, go!" haha so I start to walk down to the stage and I heard everyone chanting JANE JANE JANE, omg it was amazing. I was like, ya thats me! All of the judges hugged me and then they do best festival actor of the competition and paul, also from here got it! AHH it was so cool. We also got best physical comedy. We sadly only got runner up tho. When we went up for it the entire auditorium was chanting JANE JANE JANE JANE. The lady presented me with the trophy, its pretty. Kimball told me to take it home and then take it in to school tomorrow morning. I thought that was pretty sweet I got to keep it. It was rather disappointing we got cheated out of going to states, how can you have best actress AND best actor and not go to states? I dont know.
oh well, Im very happy i got all cast, i wasn't expecting it, and I certainly didn't expect them to present me with an award no one has ever gotten before. It was sweet, i was so glad everything paid off. I guess a bunch of directors went up to kimball afterwards and were like, "I dont know how you didnt win, I tought you would." so we should have! haha
we might have another show at school cuz we did so well at competition and all the people at brewer high are bastards and didn't come to the first show.
