do or do not, there is no spoon
So, I haven't said anything in a while. I dunno, it's been harder to really have anything to say. I guess things have been fairly normal, work has been up and down. There was a while when everyone who has joined the instructing team within the past few months were suddenly removed from teaching and made to just go stand in the back and observe. I was pretty pissed about all of this, especially since while the rest of the team was busy being students themselves for some classes that needed to get done, I was one of the 3 people who stayed back to teach all the classes we needed to get done. But, we've done some practice runs and extra presentations in house lately- and I've pretty much proven that I can do the job, and have pretty much been told I'm the most improved and most prepared of all of the new guys. So that's a plus, and it looks like things are going to turn around for me now.
I've still been spending my weekends with Zoe, which is always amazing, we do lots of stuff together, going to see movies, going skating, parties, out to dinner, staying in and playing videogames, leaving our marks on each other :-P, etc... so that's been really nice.
My best buddy B-Funky returned from surrenderland (aka: france, sorry, I'm in the army, it's my job to make such jokes) and so we welcomed him back with a party this past weekend. He didn't know I was coming, so it was pretty funny to show up and basically have my leg humped in joy. Also got to spend time with Danny B Cherylann and Craig, Jason, Prost and Lauren, The parents del Funky, and some cats I didn't previously know, so that was cool.
Watched the Bears win their way to the Super Bowl, which was amazing, GO BEARS!!! (Zoe slept in my lap at the time, she doesn't like football, but at least she lets me watch)
Still reading a ton, about a book a week on my good weeks, otherwise my time isn't always so well sent.
Saw an ortho surgeon on friday, declined surgery for now as the recommended brace should do the job, and the surgery would put me down for 6-8 months. eek. So now I just need to get the brace, which unfortunately had to be scheduled feb 5th. grrr... I'm getting sooooo tired of all this waiting to get shit done so I can finally start getting well back on my feet again.
Of course the new ink was gotten, which I'm still really psyched about.
darkfemside.com is the website of the woman who did the work, I always go to the same parlor, I may stick to the same artist from here out. So whoo hoo for that.
I think that's really about it for an update at the moment.
I know some of you have been missing me, so there you go. I'll try not to be so much a stranger.
