Life's better with Code Monkey

I just started a 12-step program to deal with the fact that I'm not so tough. Step 1 is admitting I miss my Love Monkey. Steps 2 - 12: Fuck 'em. I don't need 'em. ;)

The suckiest job ever is going to keep me on for the entire 2 weeks of my notice... even though I spent approximately 6 hours surfing and chatting on the crackberry today. Turns out I don't even like getting paid for not working. The really annoying part is that the cow orker that made the decision appears to be just keeping me on so she can be even lazier than usual.

Mother dear is really enjoying tracking the Mountain Monkey on his SPOT. I didn't even have to check on his progress often as she was sending messages all day regarding his location, progress, and supposition about where they'd make camp for the night. She also sent some amusing pics of Rainier climbers from about a bazillion years ago. After having spent so much time helping him acquire equipment, I'm guessing those folks didn't survive.

Getting settled in to the casa is going pretty well. Moving is much easier when you never really unpacked in the last place you lived. I also have to thank Minx and Sox for providing input on clothing that just needed to be donated, which helped thin out the closets a lot. In fact, I'm infinitely proud of myself for fitting all of my clothing into the two closets and my ONE inordinately huge dresser. Okay, and the lingerie chest.

I just got my evening "I'm OK!" message from the Mountain Monkey. Must be dinner time!

Speaking of dinner... I'm dining with Mr Luddite tomorrow evening. Turns out given the choice of all the restaurants in SD, he chose the Mongolian place across the street from the casa. It'll be nice to catch up.

Sox was having Minx Drop this evening. Or, Sox Drop. Either way he stopped in and said hello on his way to the airport. It was nice to say hi and watch him beam about his little subbie.

Time for more unpacking/organizing. G'night, all.
