Live feels pretty crazy right now. I finally found a new job, and not a nano-second too soon. Moved all of my things into the Casa last Friday, as well as some of Tom's stuff that was in storage. Finally, the Mountain Monkey, who I haven't been separated from for more than the length of a work day in over six months, is on Rainier as of this morning.
Now, don't get me wrong; although I'm quite certain I could have spent another six months with him without interruption, I am enjoying the time to myself. As he said the other day, "I've never spent so much time with someone and wanted to kill them less" or something like that. I'm getting settled in to his our place, cleaning, going to bed early, spending quality time with the Taz monster, time with friends, and so on. It's all good, it's just odd trying to arrange furniture, for example, without his input. He did confirm this morning that he was thrilled not to have been here while I went through my closets, though.
Even from far away he makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. We sent each other the exact same shmoopie message at the exact same time last night. When I clicked 'send', his message had just appeared in my inbox.
On to the new job. I am VERY excited, but I don't think I'll go into much detail other than to say this: when I told Sox about it last night, he asked if the last job was *SO* bad it had pushed me over the edge and I was delusional; that this job sounded TOO perfect and he thought perhaps I made it up. He has an excellent point, but as long as paychecks show up in my account, I don't really care. ;)
Boring details about the Casa: the couch is set up in a bit of a weird way, but I think it works. Taz has access to the windows so she doesn't need to jump up on the couch to look outside... although I have figured out that despite the fact that I constructed THE BEST dog bed for her EVER, she is still choosing to nap on the couch while I'm away. I love my couch and it's really nice and I'd rather it didn't end up as hairy and smelling-slightly-of-dog as the last couch did... so we might need to work on this, despite the dubiosity of its success. The master mistress bedroom seems done as well. The bed was too large to have both nightstands next to it on the wall it's on, so I had to get a little creative with the furniture. I'm pleased, however, and there is a LOT of space for plants (yay!). Plus, if we want to set up the cross, we only have to move some small pieces of furniture. >:) The guest/media room is only started, but when Sox saw it last night, he said "I just came a little in my pants". Yeah, it's gonna be awesome. I still can't believe the movers were able to get that TV upstairs.
In other gnus....
Had dinner with Sox and Minx last night. What's better than dinner with friends at Claim Jumper? FREE dinner with friends at Claim Jumper. The service was SO BAD and the food took so long that I decided to eat my own tongue, so they comped our entire meal. If this was a Master Card commercial, it would go a little something like this:
Dinner with friends: $0
Favorite ice cream for dessert: $18
Watching Sox faux hula-hoop on the Wii Fit until he nearly vomits: PRICELESS.
Seriously. There was copious belching and retching, and yet he kept playing.
'nuff said.
