Ever get bothered way too much by something way too small?
Here's one from *unspecified place of employment.* Okay, so one part of my job is receiving items from another location. Cool. It's pretty boring and menial, just sorting items and directing them where they need to go. But the people at the other location need to MARK WHERE THE ITEMS ARE MEANT TO GO. We're talking something that takes all of a second and a half, IF THAT, to put a check mark on the slip of paper attached to said item, which is already premarked with the potential destinations in question. That's all it needs. A check mark.
If you, dear worker(s) at other location(s), do not do this very simple thing, it about triples the amount of work I have to do. It's not that what I have to do is difficult, because it really isn't. But it takes several steps that would otherwise be unnecessary in the best case, and in the worst case it means that the person the item is destined to go to won't get it for another day or so while we sort out where it's meant to be.
It's also something that I would completely let slide with a slight sigh of annoyance if it happened every once in a while. One slipped through, one was mismarked, whatever. But no. It's getting more frequent, to the point that some days there are more items without direction than there are properly marked. THIS IS NOT A DIFFICULT PART OF YOUR JOB.
It is also frustrating to have a task that is supposed to take me about an hour take twice that because of your laziness, so then my supervisor asks me why I'm taking so long.
URGH.
