I'm Batman, Bitch!
Well, I had a day off on tuesday, and went to the health club and took a great tai-chi class. Had a lot of fun, taking it relatively easy and even took myself out for chinese. As seems to be a developing pattern, the power went out at work and the computers refused to come back up due to a problem with the uninteruptable power source. Nobody thought to just plug the damn thing into a power strip or regular surge protector until I said something when I called in when I woke up to find out what was going on. To get my mind off work yesterday morning, I watched a great movie (Hitch) and decided that I was going to invite my old boss, who owed me a lunch, to take me to Johnny Corino's (Italian restaurant) after my work out. I made the mistake of stopping by work, and found they had yet to get the computer straigtened out or even run the audit for tuesday night. So I volunteered my services, clocked in, and had everything done in about an hour, which meant that last night I wasn't having to spend my entire night fixing things.
After stopping by the bookstore and picking up the new DMG II (gaming book), I went and saw Batman Begins. IT WAS FREAKIN FABULOUS! By far the best batman movie yet (not that this is saying much). Christian Bale was meant to play this role. This was the first batman movie to play it straight, with no camp or winking at camera. It was as good as the two spider-man movies have been. Highest recomendation. 5 stars.
Hitch was one of the best romantic commedies I have seen in a while. Will Smith was solid, but Kevin James (from King of Queens) stole every scene he was in. Lotsa actually good advice for guys and a sneak peak into the male mind for gals. This is the sorta movie that gives a in the closet romantic manly man hope. 5 stars.
Dead Like Me, after a strong start, has actually stayed pretty freash and original. I am on disk two, which has episodes 2-6, and am enjoying them. Solid 4 stars, but don't expect it to reach 5 without slightly sharper dialogue.
Going to have to go and finish off work, but I did want to let xi know that I am not quite offended by her not offending me with her offensive comments that were meant to offend. So there. That'll teach her.
