quick reviews
Only got time to do two quick movie reviews this morning, not that much has been going on otherwise besides the usual exhaustion and fighting off depression.
Be Cool is the sorta sequel to Get Shorty. Like with most sequels, it is not nearly as good as the original, but is not bad either. Uma Thurman and John Travolta give solid, but not great performances. It is worth watching to see The Rock play a gay wanna be singer/actor, especially his country music video (where he covers a female country music song), which is quite possibly one of the worse videos ever made. He absolutely steals EVERY scene he is in. 3 stars.
Laws of Attraction is an adequite romantic comedy. It was not as good or well written as I hoped, and Pierce Brosnan (who I love) and Julianne Moore do not have much natural chemistry between them, but do turn in solid performances. If you like romantic comedies, it is a nice light evening, otherwise don't bother. 3 stars.
