Hi Livejournal! It's been too long....
Basically, I'm having a more liberating, interesting, exciting summer than I ever could have imagined. I love love LOVE my job. The people I work with are incredible. Especially this one person... He's the most attentive, caring, wisest person I think I have ever come across. He's just amazing, really. But, in truth, I love just about everyone I'm working with right now. I look forward to going to work, and I'm proud to be working for an organization that is effectively putting campaigns together to save the environment. And apparently, I'm good at my job too. I've been promoted to "Campaign Coordinator" and my director told me a couple of days ago that the organization wants me to become a director myself!! I am sooo excited about this. I might run an office!
And Boulder is beautiful, and full of the most interesting people from all walks of life. Because I get to travel all around the state for my job, I get to see both mountains and desert. There's a great, raw energy out here. It feels fresh and clean and pure. I am awed by the mountains every day, and the visibility at night is staggering... I don't think I have ever seen so many stars. I just got back from a camping trip out in Aspen. It was gorgeous out there, but I experienced my first real work related issue. These two people in my crew decided to quit, and it put me in an awkward position. On top of that, I got sick. It was blazing hot, and someone had to drop me back off at the campsite, where I proceeded to get more sick and had nowhere to escape the sun. But... I'm still very glad that I went, even though it's great to be back in my bed!
So yeah, life out here overall is fantastic.. But there's a HUGE problem. I miss you guys so much it hurts. I really do. No matter how many amazing people I meet out here, nothing compares to my original crew, you know? I hope all of you are doing well, and that you are having fun. Jane, congratulations on your graduation! Please send me letters and emails and call me and fill me in on what you are doing!
