HAPPY BIRTHDAY CRAIG KILBORN

Aug 24, 2005 22:36

Yes, today is Craig Kilborn's birthday. As a die-hard fan of the late, "Late Late Show" with Mr. Kilborn as host, I feel I must give a shout-out, right here, at the very beginning of this entry. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CRAIG! HURRY UP & COME BACK TO TV!

Latest Obsession:
The Office -- This show is hilarious, in a low-key, uncomfortable-pausy way. Steve Carell is priceless as regional manager Michael Scott. Eye-popping inappropriateness spews forth from him in each episode. And the cute guy John Krasinski doesn't make it hard to watch, either.

My Mom just might show up out in TX with Cindy Sheehan. The other day, while she was making dinner, she heard on the news about 12 more of our boys being killed over there in Iraq. "IMPEACH! IMPEACH! IMPEACH!" she roared, each word punctuated with a fistful of frozen lima beans she flung into a pot of boiling water.

I start back to school next week. I hope it is my very last semester. But then again, I don't. I have no idea what I will do when I finally get my degree, and that scares the fuck out of me.

During E Week, Mike came back to Memphis!!!! He told me he wasn't coming, and then at 3AM on Aug. 13 he called and said he had talked his parents into letting him go. He stayed until the 17th, and did the Vigil, and went down to Beale with me, and just all around had a good time. I first saw him when I was going to the VIP Tent. I was standing at the light in front of the gate, soaking wet and burning up in the hot sun, when I saw a young guy on the opposite side of the street listening to an iPod. He said he was going to call before he left last week, but he did not. Oh well, that's Mike for ya.

The Vigil was more fun to work this year, mainly because I was stationed on the driveway, and also because Kelly was in charge. Jeff and Carla did their spiel and tried to scare everybody, but they just could not get me! I told them that next time they just had to start scaring people and not give us a warning. I was on high-alert, ultra-sensitive the entire nite. I even mistook Jack Soden for Jeff at one point in the evening, and almost hollered, 'you can't scare me!' But I choked on that when I realized who it *really* was standing under that tree...

Saturday is Rich's wedding reception! OMG! What up with that?! Last time I saw Rich he was getting over Allison. Shows you how long ago I last talked to him. Me & Caster are going to the reception, which is being shin-dug at the Children's Museum. Its a Hawaiian beach party theme, so we're dressing up, big-time. We're even wearing arm leis.

Today it was Africa hot. Tomorrow looks to be a little closer to Hell.

Cassie has 2 guys interested him her. Yayy for her. I sort of like the DJ better, but of course he isn't really "real" until she actually meets him in person. I sure wish my favorite classmate would contact me again. I miss him.
