This was a blast last year, so I hope to see all of you posting lists and granting wishes! I know a lot of us are busy -- big bangs, NaNo, REAL LIFE. The idea is to keep this as low-commitment as possible; give where you can, but don't feel under any obligation to do more than you're able!
So what's the general idea? Here's how it works:
Step One:
Post a list of some holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Katie/Effy icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for Skins Series 4 on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new computer").
Step Two:
Surf around to see who has posted their list. Here's the important part:
If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it. You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

And that's it! This comm was created in the interest of seeing as many wishes granted as possible, as a place to collectively browse lists and share what comes out of the project. Just follow these general guidelines:
* Post your own Holiday Wishlist to this comm [as a separate entry] or to your own journal. If you post to your LJ, post a link on the comm, so everyone knows where it is!
* If the wish you fulfill is something fandom-related or non-specific [like graphics, fic, or vids], feel free to post it up on the comm when you're finished, that way everyone can enjoy it!
* Wishes don't have to be claimed, unless you want to do so! Surprises are definitely welcome, too. And feel free to grant a wish or fill a prompt even if someone else already has -- the more fic/art/awesomness that comes out of this, the better!
* Don't feel like you have to be a fic-writer/graphic artist/vidder to post your own wishlist. When awesome things come out of fandom, everyone wins, and your prompt for a Christmas fic just might be something that will brighten up everyone's day! On that same note, if you have a lot going on in your life, don't feel obligated to write ten fics or make a hundred icons. And don't feel like you have to spend money, unless you want to! It's about giving what you can, when you can, and maybe making someone's wish come true.
* Use the tags provided! It just helps keep things organized and pretty. :D
