Happy Memorial Day

May 29, 2005 23:49

Tonight the people that live across the pond from us were setting off fireworks. I heard loud pounding noises while I was watching t.v. downstairs, so I ran outside and sure enough, "the sky was on fire". It was really cool, they went all out for this Memorial Day holiday. So I stood outside in the cold under my deck, so as not to get wet by the rain of course, and watched the show. It was pretty exciting. I then went upstairs to our living room and my parents were sitting there watching them through the big windows we have in our living room. It was really cool how perfectly you could see the fireworks from the middle window and just sitting on the couch. So, that was my cute family moment for the evening...

Today I met up with Jana and Cecily who are both apprentices at the Barn this summer and we went out to eat at Bennigans. My God was it good to see them again. We had a great time, lots of laughs and hopefully many more to come. It was nice to see how happy Jana was with everything at the Barn. That girl's integrity will never cease to amaze me...reminds me of myself :-)

Only two more weeks till I venture down to Coldwater for a bit to do some six shows. The lineup should be a lot of fun. Here they are for those of you theatre-lovers:

Gypsy (starring Deb "Annie Oakley and Eliza Doolittle in Marshal Civic Player's productions" Culver as Mamma Rose), You Can't Take it With You, Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, They're Playing Our Song and the Popcorn (children's theatre) shows are Hanzel and Gretl, The Frog Prince and Charlotte's Web.

So, a pretty busy summer lies ahead of me. But damn, I'm ready. The bowling alley is getting pretty ho-hum, although the return hasn't been as terrible as I thought it would be.

And after talking to a bunch of people about it I am finally going to watch "Magnolia". I've caught parts of it on HBO in the past, but I am going to watch the whole thing tonight and this time understand what the hell is going on.

Until later...
