I picked up one of the coolest things ever at the first upcycled market this past weekend. I got a stereo system that's built into a vintage 1950s suitcase. What? I know. It's amazing. You plug in your iPod (or whatever) and play awesome tunes. Of course, Motown music goes particularly well with such a creation. They're called StereOtypes and they're incredible. They even make guitar amps. Check 'em out and get one.

Ukulele lessons are going well. I'm sloooooowly picking up speed with changing chords. My instructor is encouraging me to be less perfectionist. See, I want to have my fingers perfectly positioned on each chord before playing the transition. Noble, but then a song will take a lot longer to play. Whereas if I just go for it, the idea is to train my brain/hands to transition quickly and correctly. I'm slowly getting better at playing Redemption Song and I asked him to teach me to play Dan Henig's cover of Move Bitch. My instructor's reaction was great and he added, "Oh, these lyrics..." Hahahaha! Maybe this week we'll do some Metallica.

I did a bunch of cleaning this week which made me feel pretty good. I put aside some things that have negative associations. I've thrown some of it away and the rest I may give away. There's no point in holding on to items you don't particularly want, especially if they make you think of bad times or crummy people.

I've done some meditating and yoga this week. It has felt so good to stretch my body out and get rid of that stagnant energy in my muscles. I've been thinking of Ganesha a lot this week. Then yesterday, a friend of mine sent me art they've been working on...it was Ganesha. Funny how that worked out.
