As The Radio Played Another Terrible Song...

I go through waves of I want to wear make-up, I don't want to wear make-up. I've been using mineral eyeshadows for a few years now, handmade lip gloss, and switched to fruit-based mascara last year. But what about eye primer, gel liner, or lipstick? What I have isn't natural and that perturbs me. The eye primer, I think, is starting to bother my eyes a bit when I use it. I stopped using lipstick because the thought of unknown, potential chemical garbage being in my mouth disgusts me. What's a make-up wearer to do?

The internet, of course! Luckily for me, I stumbled upon The All Natural Face. Everything is natural and vegan and there are tons of options. I've placed an order for eye primer, gel liner, mascara, and lipstick. I'll report back when the order comes in and I try everything out. If all goes well, I'll be ordering more make-up goodies to try.

The whole using more natural products is becoming increasingly important to me. I'm so glad Winnipeg has a wonderful artisan, Just The Goods. I recently got another supply of toothpaste and a facial moisturizer for dry skin. My poor face gets so, so, so dry and scaly in winter. The lotion is helping a lot. On really bad days, I put a dab of coconut oil on.

I'm getting a bottle of C Is For Clean to have at work for our office. We have very harsh chemical cleaners so we rarely clean our office because the smell gives me a headache. I'm sure I'll be ordering a bottle for home, too. It's a new Canadian company so check 'em out.

Ideally, I'd like to get rid of all the plastic containers and such in our home, but that's not going to happen. The cost to replace it all with glass would be pretty crazy. I like to use mason jars to take lunches and drinks to work. We have some plastic tupperware that's supposed to be BPA-free. Oh, I'm having a hard time finding stainless steel lunch containers that aren't made in Asia. No offense, but the word "lead" comes to mind and I don't really trust metal food containers made in countries that don't really give a fuck about people's health or quality control. *cough*

Naturally, there are critics of this film...but fuck them.
