Love Like Yours Will Surely Come My Way...

So. I had this problem with my glasses constantly sliding down the bridge of my nose. It was getting quite aggravating, especially if walking in rain or snow which would make them slide even more and I had to constantly push them up. And doing yoga with glasses just wasn't happening. Annoyed, I turned to the mighty internet and discovered Keepons. A simple device to hold your glasses up and at a low cost. I measured the arms of my glasses as per the site's suggestion and sent the owner, Mike, an e-mail to ask what he thought. I ordered Keepons Superior because the flairs at the ends of my glasses arms' are quite wide. The confirmation of shipment e-mail I got was very cute. They arrived pretty quickly and I immediately got to trying to put them on and...they wouldn't budge. :( I tried for an hour and my fingers were so sore. I could only get my glasses about halfway in the Keepons and they wouldn't go any further. I tried putting the Keepons in boiling water, hot soapy water, and even lube, all to no avail. They simply would not budge. The tapered end of the Keepons just wasn't wide enough and the Superiors didn't provide much stretching room. I got aggravated and e-mailed Mike about the situation. In the meantime, I took a sharp knife and slit a very small cut at the tapered end to accommodate my glasses. That, along with some fancy maneuvering using my fingernails, and I finally got them on! Hooray! Mike was really cool when I explained to airmail ship back to China would cost more than the product, he offered to replace them with the stretchier model, Keepons Stretch. But, since I got them on and they seem to be staying put, I said no worries.

Now, as to the Keepons whilst on my glasses. They are AWESOME! Even with making the small slits in them, they seem to be staying put. I don't have to push my glasses up every couple of minutes or less, which it honestly was that bad before. I only adjust my glasses every once in awhile simply because I want to (or force of habit), not because I actually have to. They really are a great product and if you have glasses sliding around, totally order yourself a pair! If I'd order another pair for these glasses, I will absolutely get Keepons Stretch instead.

A couple of co-workers and I went for lunch this week at Kokeb Ethiopia on Edmonton Street. I had never had Ethiopian food before but it was getting rave reviews in a Winnipeg vegan group I'm in. Plus, they have a vegan lunch buffet and it's only $10 (taxes included). I was pretty excited to try both a new place and a new type of food. It was delicious! It did not taste anything like I thought Ethiopian food would taste like. *lol* And for $10 buffet, that's really awesome. I've been craving it ever since. I have a feeling I'm going to have to start including this in my budgeting so I can go more often...or until I'm sick of it. I've been looking up recipes so maybe I could try a couple and take that for Xmas dinner.

One of my co-workers gave me a beautiful necklace for Xmas. It's a glass pendant in shades of black, brown, and gold and the necklace is matching colours of ribbon. So pretty and such a pleasant surprise. I'm amazed when I think back to my previous job and how I felt a year ago to now. I'm so lucky and grateful. I really adore 99% of my colleagues (the one person I don't care for, nobody likes *lol*).
