If I had the money, I'd probably go fully raw vegan or very close to it. However, I'm pretty sure produce prices in Canada are much higher than, say, the US. This is due to the cost of importing fruits and veggies; the fact we don't have the climate to grow produce year round unless people are using greenhouses/hydroponics in which case the prices are still high to balance that out. So, that really sucks, but I can't afford to eat 6 - 10 lbs of produce a day like some raw foodies do.
This chick is pretty inspirational when it comes to raw food. She seems to have a massive hard-on for cherry tomatoes and peaches, which she kinda sexualizes (hot)...but, yeah, it comes down to money, baby. Incorporating more raw meals in my diet is a very good compromise. I ordered a veggie spiralizer yesterday so I can make raw zucchini noodles to replace pasta and, obviously, I can use it to spiralize/slice/shred things other than zucchinis.
I've met a new family doctor who is closer to home and had a physical with her the other day. I really like her! She didn't get judgey on me for having my tubes tied or having tattoos (unlike the doctor I met with last year) and she respects that I'm not big on pills. I told her my concern that she might go to a different clinic in a few months, like the doctor I met last year. She said she's not surprised that happened (I guess that's common for new family doctors) but she has no intention of leaving this clinic as she's very happy there and it allows her to spend more time with her family. I told her I'm a great patient because I won't be coming in to see her often. *lol*
We've been having very odd weather. It'll be hot and balmy and then we have rain for days on end. Then we had a day of 5*C topping at 16*C around noon. Weird! We're back to rain now (had some hail a few moments ago) so hopefully it gets it out today and/or tomorrow so the rest of the week is fine.
My scooter, thankfully, has been working well lately. *knock on wood* My co-workers love it and some of them seem to be thinking about getting their own - hahaha!
15th book of 2012 completed.
Island of the Sequined Love Nun by Christopher Moore.
Likelihood of me recommending this book to anyone (out of 5) - 3.5 to 4. This was a better read than the last Moore book I read, but still not as good as Dirty Job. It has a sinister sense of humour, mystery, and action so still a pretty good read.
