As Long As You Love Me So...

Touching up my roots. How fun.

So, I'm |-this-| close to being done my Xmas shopping, thankfully. I have 2 or 3 more things to get and I'll be done. Hopefully I can accomplish that this week.

Yesterday, my sister, niece, and I went to this place called Art Junktion downtown. Basically, you can pick up some free art supplies/odds and ends. Junktion is right. You can land most of the stuff dumpster diving, going through recycling bins, or just asking friends for stuff. Regardless, I got a few pieces of carpet to put on the steps my Dad made for Romeo in hopes that the extra grip will encourage him to use them. My sister, unfortunately, found nothing which is a shame because we went there for her to get things for Girl Guides. Anyway, after that we dropped off a hamper for Osborne House so that was wonderful.

Today, I had an interview at a geriatric centre on Pembina for volunteering. It's not exactly the same kind of old folks' home I went to as a kid to visit my great granny. Most of the residents here are in wheelchairs and need quite a bit of assistance with their day-to-day living. Which is fine, don't get me wrong. I have orientation at the end of next month and I'll go in a couple of times before that to see if it's the right fit for me. Basically, I'd be going in to do mostly one-on-one visits and help with recreation activities. The first day I go, I'll help during recreation time. I may also take Romeo a few times as they have pets there and allow people to bring in dogs. Poor Mia would be far too excited and it wouldn't be safe.

My chiropractor thinks I should be all fixed up soon, which is good. I have 2 appts with him this week and hopefully that'll do it. I do feel a lot better and he said it's time for me to get another massage since the stuff that hurts now is muscular.

My dentist checked my massive cavity but I can't see her until the beginning of January due to her holidays. Boo! :( She gave me a Crayola kids' toothbrush to help me reach the back of my teeth without barfing so yay to that, hahaha.

School is going well, I guess. I need to complete my first assignment this week or next so I'm nervous about that. It's 25% of my grade so let's hope I knock it out of the park.
