The Weather Outside Is Frightful...

I had my last wisdom tooth removed on Monday. Hooray! It wasn't too bad. In fact, taking the tooth out was easier than the last one, which was already poking through yet still broke to pieces. The challenge on this one was the amount of gum tissue that was in the way and needed to be removed. It was disturbing to hear, "Scissors," then, yep, those were some effing scissors in my mouth. And that drill? Yeah, that's filing my gum away. Yum! When she got to the tooth I heard the horrible grinding noise and she said, "There; that's it." It was out - yay! My mouth still tastes horrible, as in dried blood. I haven't been able to brush that area (just salt water swishes) and, strangely enough, none of the stitches have dissolved yet (edit: stitches came out early Sat morning). It's a bit itchy though so I assume that means it's healing fine. My face still feels a bit tender and numb-ish on that side. Hopefully that clears up on its own. I go back to see her on Monday for a follow-up.

I got a bunch of my Xmas shopping done. I generally like to be done by now, but that hasn't happened. I've ordered a lot of gifts but there are a few things here that I'll have to actually go to stores for. Oh, yeah, and I have no idea what to get Andrew! >.< I'm hoping he'll give me a list soon.

For Xmas this year, I'm involved in a number of hampers and such. I have to get a gift for an old person courtesy of Be A Santa To A Senior (either a coffee table book of photography or a lap blanket/throw), I'm organizing a hamper for Osborne House at work, and then with my family, we're doing hampers for Osborne House, Cheer Board, and Ronald McDonald House. Phew! 'Tis the season though, right?

I've been thinking lately about signing up for volunteering. Considering the program I've signed up for through RRC is Volunteer Management, I should probably have more volunteering on my resume. Plus, it's something I want to do. I think I would like to start with volunteering with old folks, just something simple like going to visits with them and such. I've contacted Age & Opportunity about this so hopefully they'll get back to me.

I'm currently reading Wicked: The Life & Times of the Wicked Witch of the West on my Kobo. I am loving it! What a great story. It makes me sad that I missed the Wicked play when it was in town. Ah well.

Well...I'm debating whether to catch up on some TV programs (like Boardwalk Empire) or light some incense and crawl under the covers to read. Decisions, decisions!

health, books, good deed, shopping
