Alright!
So, I heard about
Holy Crap cereal months ago, first from my sister and then I saw the owners pitching it on Dragons' Den. I was intrigued, but put off by the fact they require a minimum order of 3 bags. What if I didn't like it? I'd be stuck with 3 bags of crap cereal. When I was at Vita Health last week, one of my co-workers pointed it out so I finally got a bag to try. Verdict: Bland and weird texture. Like, really weird, mushy with crunchy bits texture and bland, bland, bland. I don't know why one of the investors on DD raved so much about the taste. Maybe if I add some cinnamon to it, it'll taste better. Anyway, it has ingredients that are very good for your health, especially if you're trying to lose weight, and it's low on the glycemic index so it takes longer to digest. You use 2 tbsp of cereal to 4 tbsp of liquid (we're currently using almond milk). Neither Andrew or I have felt "full" after that small amount. However, I can say that I don't start feeling hungry (as in grumbling tummy) again until quite sometime later, unlike fibre cereals, usually 3 - 4 hours after eating HC cereal vs 1 - 2 hours after eating fibre cereal. That time frame includes eating HC cereal, working out (either at the gym or doing morning power yoga), then heading to work. So...it's kind of impressive. Maybe my body is now digesting the HC cereal faster because I had it at about 6:45 this morning and my stomach started rumbling just after 9 a.m. so...that's not good. I guess if I stick with this cereal I'm going to have to eat more with it (maybe even just a slice of multi-grain toast with peanut butter).
I can't wait to make some vegan mac & cheese and/or nachos with my
Daiya cheese. *drooooool...*
