I'm Aching For Ya, Baby...

Get this: My co-workers and I won on our office Lotto Max ticket (from last week's draw)!!! :-O We won $5,618.50 which came to $622.04 each. Woohoo!!! We got sushi for lunch yesterday to celebrate and then after work I went and bought this sewing machine and sewing supplies. I also ordered 5 lbs of Daiya vegan cheese (I got it on sale so that was extra awesome). I'm going to take Andrew out for lunch at Mongo's Grill tomorrow and then I'm going to put aside the rest of the money for the time being. :) I want to order some more contact lenses, preferably daily disposable ones since I don't wear them that often anymore.

I'm surprised at how I'm just picking up sewing relatively easy right now. I haven't used a sewing machine in at least 10 years so I watched the instructional DVD that came with my machine and followed along so I wound the bobbin and thread the machine accurately. I sewed up a tear on my jacket pocket last night, sewed up some tears on a pair of Andrew's jeans, and then I decided to try and re/deconstruct a T-shirt. I've watched a few tutorials on YouTube to get an idea. I took a men's medium, which is way too big for me, T-shirt I've had lying around for years and years as it's a promo shirt for the first Transformers movie with a Decepticon logo on the front. I never wore it because it was so big. Anyhoo, I took that shirt and sewed it up to be form fitting, I cut the collar off to make it a boatneck, and the sleeves turned into 3/4 sleeves (they bell out a bit at the bottom but I think it looks cool). Way sexier now! I'm very happy at how awesome, and fairly easy, it turned out to be. I'm going to end up hitting up thrift stores to get shirts to re/deconstruct, hahaha.

It was my niece's 7th birthday a couple weeks ago and I told her I would take her to Crockadoodle to paint pottery. So, that was today. Let me start off by saying Crockadoodle is very cool and fun. I definitely would go again and want to. My niece also said she would like to go again and if it were up to her we would have stayed and painted all day, haha. She picked a cat bank and I chose a cereal bowl. I let her pick the colours I should paint my bowl which were green, teal-blue, red, and pink on the inside. Her cat is purple, pink, yellow, some red, and some teal-blue, hahaha. She really enjoyed herself which made me happy. A group of teenage girls came in for a birthday party and my niece said, "Teenagers laugh a lot." Hahahaha! I told her that would be her one day and she said no way, hahaha. Oh, kids. Afterward, I treated her to a cupcake at The Cupcake Corner in the Village. We also went to McNally Robinson as I finally decided on a book to read (Apartment 16). She wanted to look around and she found a small stuffed owl she wanted to I caved and got it for her. All in all, a fairly good Auntie & Niece special day. Andrew and I are going to have a special day with my nephew for his birthday in May. My sister told me his nose was a little out of joint that I took Rylynn and not him, haha. Poor guy. Hopefully glow mini golfing will make up for that.
