Feel free to ignore this post if you've had enough of reading about my exercising. :)
SO! This week I've tried 2 new classes. I did Body Step on Monday and wanted to walk out within the first 5 mins; however, I stuck through it. I don't like the class for a few reasons: (a) It was too much like a Jane Fonda workout. You work just your legs using a step bench. Lame. (b) It was too fast paced with too many quick changes for newbs to catch on. (c) Too much estrogen. No dudes in the class. So, I won't be doing that class again.
Tuesday, I did Body Attack again and liked it. I ran into the instructor in the change room before class and she remembered me so she asked, "Are you coming?" I said yes and she said, "Good girl!" I like her as an instructor. She's fit and jacked so, you know, she looks the part which is something that's important to me and not necessarily everyone else. Plus, she has a great encouraging vibe.
Today, I tried Body Pump and LOVED it! It's a class where you use a barbell and a few reps using just the weights you would slide on the barbell. I don't particularly like this instructor yet (same one I had for RPM last week), but maybe she'll grow on me. If not, I just won't look to her for encouragement. Because it was my first class, I took it easy and used no more than 5 kgs total and mostly used just 2 kgs. Next time, I'll up it and see how it goes. :) I felt really awesome and strong after the class.
Provided I don't have post-class ouchiness tomorrow morning, and the weather isn't horrible, I'll just go in to use the machines. Also, very glad the legs have stopped hurting, hahaha.
I think I've decided my fitness goals which will include better cardio, more stamina so I don't feel lethargic throughout the day, and toning my body (specifically I want arms like Jillian Michaels, a flatter/firmer tummy, and my ass to not be so jiggly). We'll see if I can accomplish these goals!
Being as I now have said goals, I need to do some tinkering with my nutrition which will include up, up, upping my protein. I think I'm going to invest in
Vega Sport Performance Protein. It's all vegan and from the reviews I've read Vega appears to be the best on the market with their protein products and Whole Food Health Optimizer (I may invest in that later down the road) as the ingredients they use are top notch and and easier to digest.
I'm still hoping I can keep up this motivation. I don't want to start thinking negatively so soon as I'm already developing this healthy habit of going straight to the gym after work. I just can't help but think of all the other times where I was like, "Yeah, I'm going to work out," then stop after about a week or so. Honestly though, I haven't felt this motivated to make these changes in a long, long time so I don't want to spoil that. Heck, I loved going to hot yoga but I stopped because some newbie bitch nearly fell on top of me and her sweat got on me (SICK!!!), plus the prices were getting out of hand. I would probably still be going to hot yoga if it wasn't for the price and that "final straw" (newbie incident).
