Kitchen Adventures

After visiting Grandpa this morning, I had an exciting day in the kitchen, experimenting with all sorts of new food!

The full Dinner - a little bit of everything I made.

First, I made a whole wheat baguette.  It turned out marvelously!    Really light and fluffy with a crunchy crust.  It makes crackling noise when you squeeze it just like a baguette should!  To top the baguette, I made an eggplant bruschette, from epicurious.  It was DIVINE!  I will certainly be making it again!

Inspired by Vegetarian Times, I am growing sprouts.  Today at the store I purchased Quinoa, mung beans, and sunflower seeds to try sprouting.  Right now I have the quinoa.  Tulipchica told me that might be an easy one to start with - and it's always nice to start with success!  Hopefully in 3-5 days I'll have sprouts!

Also from Vegetarian Times, I made black bean and banana empanadas, which turned out wonderfully, and Pineapple Banana Chutney which I served on top of chicken on a bed of couscous.  I was originally going to do Tofu, but the market was sold out of the Tofu that I like, and I had some chicken at home.
