As for your poll, had I not been here, I would say a tree makes for inadequate accommodation. Yet humans of old times survived living in even more rudimentary conditions, so I suppose all most of us are equipped with survival genes.

Not too much, yet. I was curious about this magic journal thing, and lemme tell you, I have not been disappointed. Three weeks to get a job, right?

Three weeks until you get evicted, to be exact. Most people get jobs, but there are also some with personal benefactors.
