Savoring
I have very few poems memorized but this one I can usually remember the majority of from memory:
Hold fast to dreams,
For if dreams die,
Life is a broken winged bird that cannot fly.

Hold fast to dreams,
For when dreams go,
Life is a barren field,
Frozen in snow.
-Langston Hughes

It feels extra poignant today because what is even happening with race in America? Holy freaking cow. How did we let this happen? How did I let this happen?

Gratitude
1. I'm grateful I was born white in America because the alternative is clearly a fairly large pile of crap.
2. I'm grateful for a lengthy discussion with Matty about what the eff is happening in America today.
3. I'm grateful for our alumni who were cool with moving the mixer for Blackout Tuesday to later in the month.
4. I'm grateful for the colored folks who are in my life cause all of them make it better.
5. I'm grateful for faith, which is a comfort when things are overwhelming, but also intensely puzzling about why certain things are allowed to happen.

Social Connection
Texting with Matty.

Kindness
None.

Exercise
None.
I slept well.

Meditation
10 minute chakra meditation this morning.
