Pretty awesome Easter Sunday. I actually got up and went to Church. It felt nice. I went to an Episcopal Church in Tigard. The pastor is female, which is awesome. It was a pretty small congregation, and even so, was remarkably diverse. Well, I suppose in an Episcopal Church in a suburb of Portland Oregon, any diversity is remarkable. It was rather remarkable to see multiple African Americans (including the two girls acting as Acolytes) and Asian Americans among the WASPs I generally expect to see at Church. The pastor sprinkled us all with holy water using a flower. The flowers were brought up by the children of the Church to cover a plain cross. (Yay, springtime rebirth affirmations!). The sermon was good. One of the main points was how the skepticism that Mary Magdalene felt when she went to the tomb and Jesus wasn't there was a good thing. Its OK, she added, if you don't have God speaking to you directly. I really wish I could remember more of it. It was pretty cool. I think I might go back soon.
So, after the awesome Church service, I came home, spent an hour on the phone with various family members, and then played in a one-shot D&D game. Hehe.... it's been a good day.
