Well last night, I finally got up the balls, and came out to my grandparents. I must have been deluded into thinking it would go well... it didn't. I did it as softly and nicely as possible, saying that Kirk and I are more than just friends, and trying to explain a little at a time. However, it turned into grandma yelling "I can't handle this"

My dad actually gave me the same speech when I came out to him. I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother's reaction. I can understand being old-fashioned, or just plain being upset, but to go as far as to rip pictures off the wall seems pretty extreme. Hopefully she'll come around with some time.
