Goodbye

Today our dog, Yoshi, passed away. She drowned in the pool.

This is the first time Jennifer, Kellie, and I have experienced a death of a dog. Yoshi has been around since the mid 1990's and although she was annoying some of the time, she was still an important part of our lives. When we first got her, I washed her every Friday after I got home from school. I would say "Bath" and she would growl, but she would always let me put in her in the shower. She would run around in the shower as I tried catch her. I washed her almost every Friday until I went off to college.

She loved to jump. Jump up on people, jump on furniture, jump on walls, you name it. She was also very jealous at times and always barked if you pet the other dogs. She enjoyed barking at us while we swam in the pool, we think she was scared for us (or jealous that we were not hanging out with her).

We do not know what really happened because she can pull herself up out of the pool. It was probably the combination of the freezing water and her heart condition (she had recently developed a murmer). It does not really matter because it does not change the fact that she is dead. She will be missed and not only for her excessive energy, but also for her unique personality. She always wanted to be the center of attention and she sure stole the limelight today (it being Christmas Eve and all)...typical Yoshi :)

Goodbye Yoshi
