i am: present and accounted for
listening to: the air conditioner cranking
drinking: british blend tea

haven't updated in awhile; haven't had much to say. i'm just plodding through my days, still working on the manuscript transcriptions, goofing around with graphics when i should be working on the manuscript transcriptions, reading, tending yog, waiting for what looks to be the longest summer on record to be over and done with. i know i have a long wait ahead of me.

i've been kicking around the idea of creating cards and/or calendars out of my fractals for family and friends for a couple of years and finally took the first step of creating an account at zazzle last week. i decided i wanted to have a little online gallery to link to separate from from the dA or LJ interface though, so i've been coding that the past couple of days. i'll have a link to share with interested parties in the next couple of weeks or so. i wasn't enthusiastic about creating yet two more accounts - i have LJ, i have dA, i have facebook, stumbleupon, cafepress, twitter, links-a-gogo, soundclick, lastfm, photobucket - i think i might have a myspace, but if i do i never did anything with it. there's no telling what else i've signed up for and forgotten. and now i have zazzle. i really don't have the time or inclination to keep up with more than LJ and dA, and honestly most of the time that seems like one too many. still, zazzle was recommended to me by reliable sources for good quality "stuff" - including mugs, mouse pads, tee-shirts, etc. in addition to cards and calendars - so there i am. sort of. haven't uploaded anything yet lol. the render times for print quality are going to be an issue, given my lack of RAM and processor speed.

and there's a boring little update. my biggest news, as usual, has to do with yog, who broke a tooth the other day chewing on her bone. she'll be visiting the vet tonight; it's time for her to pee in the ladle and have her enzyme tests run again anyway.

today's reading: since last updating i finished mistress of the art of death by ariana franklin, started and finished world without end by ken follett (which should be titled book without end; it's near the top of my "worst book i ever read" list,) and the green mile by stephen king, which was very good. then i ran out of new things to read, so i'm now rereading the last kingdom (yet again) by bernard cornwell.
