I'm on day two of running on shortened and interrupted sleep, due in small part to my video game addiction and in larger part to a new development: teleporting cats

I figure maybe the latch isn't catching all the way -- door changed size a bit because of all the heat and humidity, that sort of thing-- but that still doesn't explain how it opened, since it never just swings open during the day when I can witness it, and it opens the wrong direction for the kitties to be able to push it open. It's like Calliope finally figured out the door knob, which I'm pretty sure is impossible. :P
Monkey traps himself, too! I *think* he goes in and his sister pushes the door shut. I can't be sure, because I've never seen it, but it's the only way I can think to explain looking for the cat for three hours only to find him shut in the closet. (He's loud by my bedroom door in the middle of the night but absolutely silent when trapped in a closet. Go figure).
This, though... even if the laundry room door isn't latching right, sometimes they're both inside, and the door opens the wrong way. They *can't* push it open, they can only push it more shut. I. Just. How.
This is months old, but I'm going through posts for my new year wrap up and I thought I'd let you know that your guess was correct! We finally caught Monkey hooking his paw under and pulling the door open. Funny thing is, he didn't teach Calliope, so SHE can still be locked in the laundry room! :P
