A Very Merry Unbirthday

Apr 04, 2010 01:55

Today was my sister's birthday party. It was crazy and full of kids, but we had a good time. Mom did an *amazing* job on all the decorations and whatnot, especially the cake (it was a topsy turvy type cake that was purposely uneven.)

Last night Kendall and I spent the night with Derek since we hadn't seen him in a while. We watched Up in the Air and Zombieland (since Kendall hadn't seen it yet). I was kind of annoyed by Up in the Air. I felt like the movie had no point since the characters essentially ended up in the same place they started the movie and the only character who dared to change things was brutally bitchslapped. In fact, it felt like her character was really picked on for no reason other than the world opening her eyes, I suppose. Zombieland, on the other hand, was fantastic. Of course, I saw it in theaters, so that wasn't much of a surprise to me.

Tomorrow we're celebrating Easter Sunday and I am very pleased that I don't have class on Monday. It'll give me plenty of time to catch up on homework. I have a dentist appointment on Tuesday that I'm a little nervous about. I haven't been to a dentist in several years and it makes me very scared.

As far as my ongoing "funk" (I really don't like to refer to it as depression because... well, I don't consider it depression) it's been steadily getting better. I think my mind is running out of things to worry about and the days have been so busy lately that I just don't have the time to be worrying constantly about everything. My main problem now is my brain is constantly looking for things to be depressed about, like it can't just let me be happy. I think it's a sign that the tail end of this is coming up. I just have to keep reminding myself that plenty of people go throughout their day being 100% happy. No one has to be miserable all the time or suffer for no reason.

Anywho... I'm getting sleepy so I shall play Facebook apps until bed, lol. I really hope the dentist visit goes well and I'll probably blog about it afterwards, if not post updates to my FB.
