"For reference, the general expectation for the second part is that people believe each health concern is equally important."

I'd take a tummy over AIDS.

It's called statistics, and lacking any information about the actual proportions of what people believe is important, you have to go with the conservative estimate that all people believe they are equally important.

Simon, the DSM, which is a diagnostic tool for mental disorder, used to have homosexuality listed in it. The medical community has looked at it that way for a long time. When the Dsm IV came out (The most recent one), they removed it. However, I believe gender identity disorders are still listed.

What data types were used in the chi square test?

lol ok

Yes, it was, and I addressed that in the paper that I wrote, saying that people's association of LGBTQ people and mental health problems might be a carry-over effect from a fairly recent change in technical classification. I also said that was a very scary option to consider because it means that both straight and LGBTQ people believe that LGBTQ people are inherently crazy.

Gender identity disorders are still listed. You have to be diagnosed with one as part of the process to qualify for a sex change, I believe.

And data types? What do you mean? All the data were nominal data based on counts for each category, if that helps.

Hey :)

Ok good, you would be amazed at how many articles I read that completely fuck up the statistics.

I havent read that section of the DSM yet. I might not, I think its going to be updated in 2011. While I do like the DSM (Spent a lot of time in it for an OCD presentation), not sure how I'd feel about that section. If you've read it I'd love to know your thoughts on the content.
