Thanks to everyone who completed the survey! Here's the basic results.
I was looking to see if people have certain beliefs about LGBTQ health, not really looking at whether or not you could guess the most important issue. I was also interested in knowing if this was associated with how people identified in terms of being part of the LGBTQ community.
So, as it turned out, there is no association between how people identify and the types of health issues they think are most important inside the LGBTQ community. This actually ran contrary to my personal prediction of what would happen, and I'll be looking into that more in depth in my paper.
So, there are definitely some health issues that vary a lot from what would be expected. Mental Health seems to be what most people believe is the biggest concern facing LGBTQ health, and Obesity wasn't acknowledged at all. HIV/AIDS was moderately above expectations, and Heart Disease and Cancer were moderately below. STIs, Violence, and Other were pretty much right where they were expected to be.
For reference, the general expectation for the second part is that people believe each health concern is equally important.
Analyses were done using Chi-Squared tests of association and goodness-of-fit.
