And a happy new year
I've definitely been enjoying myself.
Saturday, I went shopping with my mom and my brother for a few hours and then I came back and waited for my dad to get home from golfing and then we all went furniture shopping, not much luck though. I want a dresser and a coffee table and I don't want to spend a whole lot and everything I've looked at has been somewhat expensive. I just want something relatively cheap. But I'll keep looking. I'm not in too much of a hurry. My dad also helped me pick out some speakers for my new sound system for my TV. He said he'll get me a sub and back speakers when I move out. It's not like I can listen to my music or TV too loud anyways.
Then I went over to Doug's and made it there around 6, we exchanged christmas presents. He got me this really pretty ring. He couldn't have spent too much because we said we wouldn't spend too much but it's beautiful. And then he took me to Red Robin for dinner. It was delicious.
That night, they were having a party because one of Doug's roommates was leaving so that was fun. Erin and her boyfriend stopped by which was cool. It's cool being able to hang with my best friend and my boyfriend. The party lasted pretty late.
Sunday, we just chilled around the house, helped his roommate pack up (it was sad to see him leave, he was a pretty cool guy) and did some errands, we grabbed some movies and started to watch one which was a documentary about global warming, it was pretty interesting but we stopped it to watch Family Guy and American Dad. We had a pretty quiet new years eve.
Doug and I spent it by ourselves for a little bit just drinking and whatnot and then his friend Sam came over but he kept passing out. It was weird. He didn't even make it to midnight. We tried to wake him up but he just wouldn't wake up. He passed the fuck out. So we decided to have a little fun with him. We drew stuff on his face with a sharpie and duct taped his arms and legs and took pictures. And then we thought it would be funny to move him to another place in the house. Lol. It was rather amusing. And the whole time, he never woke up. It was totally a moment I would have liked to get on camera. So yea, Doug and I had a quiet night but it was really nice. Around 3 in the morning, his roommate came home and saw sam and he thought someone came into the house and tied him up. Lol. He was all worried but we said we did it and he was like oh.
The next morning, Doug and I headed up to Hood River. This was the first time he has ever met any of my extended family and he met a lot of them: my uncle winston, my aunt jan, my cousin kari, my grandma, my aunt ellen, her boyfriend mark, my cousin aron, his wife nancy, their 4 kids, my uncle sam, my aunt karen, and my cousin jessica. I was happy he finally got to meet everyone. Ellen and my grandma made mochi for us because it's a tradition to eat it on new years and surprisingly enough, he liked it.
Dinner was amazing, so much food. I made Doug eat a black bean which is another japanese tradition; it's supposed to bring good luck. After that, we didn't have time to play any games so we just took a short power nap. We left there around 5 and made it back to Doug's sometime after 6. We just chilled with everyone who was over and called it a night around 10.
This morning he had work but he got an extended break because he had to take one of his coworkers home and they told him he could stay out until lunch so he came back and chilled with me. We watched Jackass 2. I told myself I would never watch that shit because I think its gross and painful but some of it was actually funny.
Today I'm going to go through all my stuff at my parents house and decide what is give away, throw away and what I'm keeping. It shall be a long process. I need to get everything together since I have to go back to my apartment soon.
