Morning Java and awaiting to hear if I have work today or not. I only have one Christmas present to buy yet but all the others are bought and wrapped. Just need to purchase some nice coffee for someone that comes to Christmas Dinner.
So much going on in the next couple of weeks. Today I am taking my Mom to church and then onto my niece's home for dinner. We stay overnight at her home and then have Christmas morning with her traditional breakfast and time to open presents for everyone. Afterwards we head home, shower and drive on over to my sister's home for Christmas Dinner. It is a busy time but filled with so much family and love.
This week and next will be the last two weeks of my current employment. I will stay on as a per diem nurse with this hospice but I have been cut back so hard that it was time to make a change. I interviewed with two different places for three different jobs. I was offered two of the positions but decided to take a hospital job. I didn't think I would ever take another hospital job again . But the day shift ICU (12hr shifts, 3 dyas a week) position at Cancer Treatment Centers of America was too good to resist. I start that job on January 7th. In the meantime I have to buy scrubs and a new stethoscope. I also have to take Basic Life Support Recertification and sign up for Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
Before I start my new job I am off to Washington DC to the GCN 2008 Conference. This their fourth annual event but my first time to go. My friend J has been after me to go since the first one. He has attend the 3 previous ones and I have finally relented and said yes to this one as it is so close to my home. I am looking forward to seeing some friends that I have not seen in quite awhile. It will be interesting to hear Jamie Baker speak also. J thinks he just likes the positive press but I think I am going to reserve judgement on that one.
So Friends in LJ Land...I hope that your Christmas is Peaceful and 2008 is a most Blessed New Year!!
