Kathleen David has informed the mod team that she and Peter David have gotten lots of very nasty e-mails regarding their involvement in scans_daily being suspended, namely, blaming them for it all. I was a little worried about this. I admit I posted on PAD's blog, but I tried my best to be polite, and I've since tapped out (I've been saving my foul temper for other sites).

I don't want to spoil the good will we've gotten from Gail Simone or anyone else, so I do hope that people stop trying to assign blame and instead focus on moving forward.

Though I wonder how many of those people attacking the Davids may be only tangentially related to scans_daily and are in fact opportunistic agitators. It happens sometimes. Poke the anthill with a stick and all that.

Always a possibility, yeah. Trolls ruin it for everyone. But at least now our statement's out there.

I'll add this to the post I made on Scans Daily Forums (http://scansdaily.freeforums.org/peter-david-t10.html). I wrote a post there with the intention of laying out the facts as we understood them, and trying to reduce rumor.

I haven't been to that community in a long time. I did not know it was suspended!! I was a big fan for a long time. I found lots of great material through them.

I realize you're probably having a very long day and I am sorry. Some practical questions though:

1) Who, if anyone, should I be writing letters to in order to support you efforts?

2) Is there something practical we can actually do other then shut up?

1) Um, no letters at this point, but if we need any kind of group effort, we'll be sure to let people know at schmevil's journal, our insanejournal scans_daily clone, or our discussion-only successor noscans_daily.
2) Well, if you liked the community, feel free to participate in our successors, and keep an eye out for more news as we try and figure out where our new permanent home is and what the new policies will be! (See above.) Insanejournal has openid, so you can comment there without having an lj.
