Back to work on Monday, says the doctor. By that point, I will have worked exactly ONE day in three weeks.

Thank heavens for vacation time, family and friends, and my stipend from KJHK, or we'd be screwed.

This is just one of those days where the news isn't good.

Evidently, Health Care Access would have covered both of our surgeries. Someone gave us wrong info otherwise... Fuck.

Ok, so while I understand that I have to stay home and wait for my abdomen to heal before I can go back to work, I'm not too thrilled with the concept of being stuck in the house for the rest of the week. Man. They put the gas on me, and the next thing I knew, I was waking up in the recovery room.

They gave me apple juice and chocolate pudding.

There's other stuff pertaining to the surgery and its aftermath, but it can wait until tomorrow. I'm gonna watch some Law & Order until I pass out. Thanks for all the kind words, folks.

Surgery's in about three and a half hours. I have to be over at LMH in about two and half hours.

Forgot to tell the_lucky_nun to wake me up when she got up, because I forgot that she didn't have to be at work until 8 this morning. This ended up being bad because I was barely able to sneak some toast in before I had to stop with the intake at 8am ( Read more... )

My surgery is tomorrow at 3:30pm. Because of the standard "no food or drink before surgery" rule, it's going to make for a looooooooooong day. On the bright side, if the anesthesia wears off in a decent amount of time, the_lucky_nun can come grab me and I'll be able to sleep off the surgery in my own bed, rather than racking up more dollars for LMH in their bed ( Read more... )
