So close.... yet so far... ouch.

I went to the gym for the first time in... 10 months (first time ever at this gym, yay new membership!!). I ran for the first time in 2 months. It was painful and an almost epic fail. But it hasn't gotten me down, I'll just make sure to not repeat this.

First, my iPod wasn't charged... so I had to deal with the sounds of an eerily quiet gym. Not the end of the world, just sorta sucks, is all.

Ran for 15 minutes on an elliptical, went beautifully.

Hopped off and got on the treadmill... and ran for 5 minutes. And 3.5 were the most painful minutes I have ever ran. You see, I'm using new running shoes... and the one thing I haven't gotten used to yet is how to tie them. So, they were tied way too tight. I walked 5 more minutes before I realized what the issue was, hopped off and loosened my shoes. Muuuuuuch better, but I was done w/ the cardio as I was also getting side cramps as I hadn't stretched my stomach muscles, and from dancing and fest they were super tight.

Did 4 sets of 5 push ups, which rocked, as I never would have done push ups during a work out before. 3 sets of 10 modified sit ups (can't think of what kind off the top of my head). Stretched, and decided I would call it a day.

Not a bad over all work out, especially since I'm just getting back into it. But still a bit of a fail for my standards. I intend to go back tomorrow and do better.
