I'm back from my niece's graduation. Had a great time. I literally stopped thinking about everything here. I can honestly say that I forgot about the children's musical while in McCook! As if I had time to think about anything though.

Almost within an hour of arriving in McCook, I began working on Denae's scrapbook. Darcey had gathered loads of pictures and newspaper clippings and I worked on it for 13 hours straight (with breaks only to nurse, eat and go to Wal-mart for new adhesive products). Darcey stayed up with me until 3 that night working on the newspaper scrapbook. After she was done, she helped me by curling up tape so that I could get the last few pages done a lot faster. Funny story: After curling about 15 pieces of tape for me, Darc said [regarding rolling the tape], "This is stressful." and I said sarcastically, "Is it now?!" and we laughed hard. It was the slap you silly kind of laugh that only comes from exhaustion and at 3 in the morning.

And you would think we would get to bed earlier the next night, but we didn't. Darcey stayed at Senior Celebration (this enormously cool party for the graduating class...they make it IMPOSSIBLE to do anything else that night. I bet they gave away $10,000 in prizes) until it was over at 4 a.m. I stayed until midnight I think.

Denae graduated (although Mom and I didn't make it to the actual ceremony b/c of the winds of Nebraska. Seriously, we had quite the time getting 55 helium balloons from Walmart to the reception site in that wind) and handled the whole day and weekend like a champ. She seemed far less selfish than any of us when we graduated.

Jeff and I bought her a Bible (a really cool looking one btw). Can you believe that Darcey had to suggest that we buy her that??? I was planning on just giving her money, but then Darcey suggested we buy her a Bible. I thought, "Yes, Sarah, you are the one with the husband who is a youth pastor. You need to be the one to get her a Bible." DUH!!!

Today I gave Emma one of those sore throat suckers b/c she has a cough. She sat there licking it while watching Berenstein Bears while I came in here to LJ. Just now she came in and said, "I'm a good girl Mommy. I'm a good girl." and I said, "Did you get sucker on the floor?" she said, "no. and I didn't get it on the mirror or the towel. no. I'm a good girl." Sure enough, I went and checked her mirror and there was some sucker goo and on the towel and I suppose there is some on the carpet somewhere.

It's good to be home.
