Which company will crumble and which one will be left standing?

A/N: Sorry in advance if this confuses anyone. But the scenes will change rapidly in this chapter since everyone is doing their job and people run into people and such. x)

“Keep a low profile and work swiftly. The faster we do this, the faster we can go home.” Siwon says, turning off the engine of the car.

Yoochun nods as he straps the last of his weapons under his dress shirt. He was uncertain what he should do when he runs into Kyuhyun, for the younger is like family to him. Shaking the thoughts away, he focuses his mind to one thing - kill the son.

Jaejoong fixes his hair and steps out of the car. They were parked a block away from the building, but the bright lights from inside is visible from where they are.

Changmin scans the building map for the last time before he gets out of the car. Siwon calms his breath and checks to make sure his weapons are visible.

The 4 men were dressed in expensive luxurious suits for the occasion. Their hair combed and styled more formally then usual.

“Once you’re done, quickly get out and meet at HQ.” Siwon mutters as he walks off. They’ve decided to enter the building separately, to not rise any unnecessary suspicion.

“Let’s do this and go home.” Jaejoong sighs as he follows. Changmin and Yoochun share a worried look, and silently hope that Yunho and Jaejoong’s paths won’t cross tonight.

+++++++++++++++++++++

“Can I leave now?” Sungmin whines, pouting like a child. Sungjin rolls his eyes, but quickly puts on a smile when another businessman approaches them.

“Suck it up like a man hyung.” Sungjin hisses, poking Sungmin’s side. The elder squirms away and puffs out his cheeks. It’s only been an hour since he’s been here, and already he wanted out. He was in a smoky gray suit with a red tie and a white-collar shirt. He felt like he was suffocating and not enough air were being supplied to his lungs.

Many people were gathered for the party. From middle-aged ladies to balding old men, people were drinking and talking to one another, all focused on one thing - making new ties and connections with other influential companies. Sungmin’s head spins as the heavy scent of different perfumes and colognes fills his senses, also the champagne that many people are drinking drifts around the room as well.

“If this wasn’t so important to dad, I would’ve left already.” Sungmin murmurs. Behind him, Hankyung chuckles and Sungmin smiles at the taller male. At least one of the bodyguards knew how to smile.

Kyuhyun stands beside him, dressed in black head to toe. It’s a wild guess, but Sungmin bets that Kyuhyun’s favorite color is black. Hankyung on the other hand was in a dark gray suit with a black tie. For a bodyguard, he was very good looking and left Sungmin staring at him like a fool.

Sungmin decided that what happened last night should be left in the dark. He didn’t need Sungjin or his father worrying over what has already happened. But what he didn’t know was that Sungjin was thinking the exact thoughts.

“Where did Kibum disappear to?” Sungjin murmurs, looking around them. Hankyung offers a smile and a shrug. I shake my head.

Suddenly, Kyuhyun’s body tenses, making Sungmin look up at the younger male with curiosity. Kyuhyun’s eyes were locked onto a figure in the spacious hall. Sungmin follows the gaze, but only frowns when he just sees a sea of heads.

Kyuhyun pats Sungmin shoulder, sending a tingling sensation through Sungmin’s body with that touch, and swiftly weaves his way through the crowds of businessmen. It seems like the pat on the shoulder was his silent way of saying, “Stay where you are.”

Sungmin frowns slightly, but nonetheless obeys.

++++++++++++++++++++++++

Kyuhyun’s eyes are set on the backside of the tall male on the other side of the room. He keeps his gaze on that male as he weaves through the sea of people. Frowning when the person rounds a corner into a dark hallway, Kyuhyun follows with swift sure steps.

“Why is he here?” he mutters under his breath as he gets to the hallway. His body tenses as he waits for his eyes to adjust to the darkness. But, before he can react, a hand grabs his shoulder and he is slammed onto a wall.

“Just what do you think you’re doing?” came a familiar voice. Kyuhyun squirms and pushes the intruder away from himself.

He turns to see Changmin standing with his arms crossed and a questioning gaze meeting his cold one. “I thought I made it clear to Jaejoong for you guys to leave this to me.” He says, voice colder then usual.

Changmin frowns. “What are you planning Kyu?”

The younger of the two doesn’t answer, instead turns to see the people of the party laughing and talking from the shadows. “You don’t need to know… yet.” He says, stepping past Changmin. “Whatever it is you have to do, hurry and do it. But leave the sons alone.”

Before Changmin can retort, Kyuhyun is stepping back into the brightly lit hall. Frowning, Changmin stops himself from following the other male and keeps his questions stored in his mind as he runs the opposite direction towards the stairs.

++++++++++++++++++++

“Hankyung-sshi,” Sungmin calls, the said male turns his attention to Sungmin. “Do you know anything about Kyuhyun?”

Hankyung scratches the back of his neck and frowns. “Actually Sungmin-sshi. I was about to ask you about him myself.” Sungmin blinks, surprised. “Why?”

“I’ve never met him, or heard of him, before Mr. Lee introduced us to you guys. That’s the first time I’ve ever faced him. There isn’t any information about him on the database at HQ, so I presumed he was someone Mr. Lee or yourself already knew.” Hankyung replies, eyes scanning to room. He keeps a look out for Sungjin, who is to his left, discussing with a group of people.

Sungmin frowns. “I wonder if dad…” His words trail off as his eyes scans the room and land on a figure to his right. It was a young male, dressed in a black suit with a silver tie. He had black raven hair and from the distance, Sungmin could tell he was beautiful. But that isn’t what caught his attention. Something about the male was eerily familiar, and Sungmin was sure he saw the man somewhere… but where?

Frowning with suspicion, he watches the male disappear down a dark hallway where partygoers were not allowed to go.

“I’ll be right back.” Sungmin mutters. And before Hankyung can stop him, he’s pushing pass people and following the male down the hallway.

++++++++++++++++++++++++

“I can’t believe I still have to file all these while they’re having a party downstairs.” Yunho mutters dejectedly. He slumps further into his chair and finishes organizing 4 of the 10 folders on his desk. He sighs and pouts, looking much like a kicked puppy.

“Maybe…I can sneak down to have some champagne. It won’t take me that long…” Yunho’s eyes sparkle as he gets up and moves to his door. “It’ll be a coffee break. I mean, he can’t expect me to sit and work all night. Right?”

He hums a nameless tune as he walks down the dimly lit halls to the stairs.

++++++++++++++++++++++

“Where’s Sungmin?” Kyuhyun asks as he approaches Hankyung. Hankyung shrugs and keeps his eyes on Sungjin.

“He said he’d be right back. He left down that hallway.” Hankyung says, pointing towards the direction. Kyuhyun nods in thanks and hurriedly chases after Sungmin - his gut was telling him that something bad was about to happen if he didn’t hurry.

++++++++++++++++++++++

“I’m sure he went this way… where’d he go?” Sungmin mutters, eyes looking up and down the hallway. The hairs on the back of his neck rise when he hears footsteps behind him, but before he has time to turn around and see who it is, a hand cover his mouth and pushes him roughly onto the floor.

A figure, clad in a light brown suit, straddles him and holds a sharp blade to Sungmin’s throat. Even with the dimness of the hallway, Sungmin could tell this man was strikingly handsome. But every thought escapes his mind when he feels the cool blade press non-too-gently on his skin. Panic rises as his eyes widen and the hand muffles his yell for help. He squirms but stops as he feels the pressure from the blade.

He closes his eyes and wills his heart to calm down. Somebody has to come this way right? And they’ll see the man and help right? Right. But Sungmin whimpers as his rising fear clouds his mind. Is he going to die? A slit to the throat… is it going to hurt? How will Sungjin and dad cope when they find his body, lifeless and unmoving, in the hallway of their building? Sungmin also wonders if Kyuhyun will cry for him…

But before he feels the cool blade press deeper into his skin, the weight on top of him is suddenly gone and strong arms wrap around him to pull him to his feet.

“Idiot. You should’ve stayed where you were.” Kyuhyun whispers into his ear. Sungmin’s eyes snap open and he looks up to his savior with relief and happiness.

Kyuhyun moves to block Sungmin from the intruder with the knife. His eyes narrow as Yoochun looks at him with a blank gaze - the look that is meant for killing. He then feels Sungmin shift behind him to grip onto the back of his suit, the small hands shaking with fear.

“I advise you to run while you can.” Kyuhyun warns, gun in hand.

Yoochun’s gaze wavers as he looks at Kyuhyun with confused hurt and then to Sungmin with even more confusion. “What the hell are you doing Kyuhyun? What are you trying to gain by doing this?” He says. “I would’ve thought you’d give us a hint of some sort.”

Sungmin looks to the person with the knife then to Kyuhyun. Do they know each other?

Kyuhyun doesn’t show any signs of acknowledgement, instead he fire his gun once. It misses Yoochun’s left cheek by a millimeter.

“Next time, I won’t miss.” Kyuhyun says, voice so cold and deadly it sent a shiver through Sungmin’s body.

Yoochun stands there in shock, but quickly he blinks and snaps out of it. He narrows his eyes and brings his knife up into a ready position. “I was going to go easy on you. My target is the boy, not you. But I guess you leave me no choice.” Yoochun says, body ready to pounce.

Kyuhyun doesn’t respond, but rather, brings his gun up again. “I didn’t expect you to. You’re a professional, you do what your told without hesitation.”

Yoochun’s eyes soften at the words. “You know… just tell me what your doing Kyuhyun-ah. What is this? Working for the man who is our target, what are you trying to accomplish?”

Kyuhyun gives a shake of his head, not willing to answer his hyung. Yoochun frowns and, with hesitation, puts the knife away. “I’m not going to fight you - I should - but I won’t.”

He carefully steps closer to Kyuhyun, hands raised. Sungmin let’s out a small whimper of fear as his grip on Kyuhyun’s jacket tightens.

“Could you tell me what’s going on? Please. Everyone is worried and confused. We don’t want to fight with you over a small mission like this.” Yoochun says, eyes searching but finding nothing in Kyuhyun’s dark orbs.

“Things are more complicated then you think hyung.” Kyuhyun says, voice strangely bitter. “So complicated…” With that, in a blink of an eye, Kyuhyun strikes Yoochun on the back of the neck, knocking the elder male out.

Kyuhyun supports Yoochun’s limp body, wrapping his arms around Yoochun’s waist to keep him steady. Sungmin stands there, unsure of the turn of events. “Kyuhyun?” He calls, eyes wide with uncertainty.

“Which way are the stairs?” Kyuhyun asks, looking at Sungmin with unreadable eyes. Sungmin hesitantly meets Kyuhyun’s gaze and leads the way.

Unending supplies of questions fill his head with every step he takes. But the main question is - Just who is this Cho Kyuhyun? And what is he hiding behind those cold eyes?

+++++++++++++++++++++++++

Hankyung stands outside of the men’s washrooms as he waits for Sungjin. Sure, to some, it would be embarrassing to wait until a person is done doing their business, but this was Hankyung’s job. And he had to do anything to keep the person safe.

He frowns and checks his watch. It’s been 15 minutes already, and unless Sungjin had to go really bad… something was wrong. He steps into the spacious bathroom and scans place with cautious eyes. His frown deepens when he doesn’t hear any sounds other then himself. Alarm rising in his mind, he kicks open all the stalls and gasps when he sees Sungjin, knocked out on the toilet seat with a needle in his arm.

Hankyung pats Sungjin’s cheeks and let’s out a sigh of relief when the younger male responds with a soft groan. He slowly pulls the needle out and sees that it wasn’t fully injected, which meant that the killer was still in the bathroom and that Hankyung walked in on him.

The Chinese man stands and reaches for his gun on the inside pocket of his suit jacket. But before his hand wraps around the cold metal, a hand grabs the neck of his shirt and pushes him out of the stall and onto the other side of the washroom. Hankyung growls with irritation and gets back to his feet.

His eyes widen slightly at the handsome, if not incredibly sexy, male before him, pointing a gun to Sungjin’s chest. “Move, and the boy dies.” The intruder says, the voice melting Hankyung’s heart. If he wasn’t a bodyguard, and the man wasn’t a killer. Maybe, just maybe, he would’ve flung himself on top of the male and ravished those lips.

“I can move faster then you can pull the trigger.” Hankyung says confidently. Siwon raises an eyebrow at the statement. “Do you really want to try?” Hankyung’s eyes narrow and without warning, pushes forward. Siwon growls and brings the gun to point towards Hankyung, but the Chinese man is faster and kicks the gun from his grasp. Siwon finds the washroom tilting at an odd angle, and then gasps as his back collides harshly against the tiled floor. He hisses and squirms when Hankyung straddles him and pins his arms on either side of his head.

“Who’s the one that hired you to kill the boys?” Hankyung questions, knees tightening on either side of Siwon’s hips.

“Do you really expect me to answer you?” Siwon hisses, eyes narrowing. He didn’t want to admit it, but the male hovering over him was extremely attractive. Their position doesn’t help his mind from conjuring images it shouldn’t be.

“I should kill you right now.” Hankyung comments, leaning so that their faces are inches away. “But what a waste it would be… of a delicious man like you.”

Siwon bites down a moan when Hankyung’s breath ghosts over his collarbones. Damn. Now he really shouldn’t be enjoying this…

“Get off of me, perverted bodyguard.” Siwon barks. Using his strength, he flips their position, making Hankyung yelp with surprise.

“Now, I should kill you right now.” Siwon says, looking into those light brown orbs. “But…” his thoughts leave him when he feels something poking his thigh. He looks down towards the abdomen of the male underneath him and raises an eyebrow.

Hankyung scowls as his cheeks turn a light shade of pink. “You keep moving that butt of yours and I swear you’ll have more then my gun to be worried about.”

Siwon can’t help but to laugh at the male’s words and expression. “You’re pretty cute, you know that?” He can’t help himself but to lean down and leave a light peck on the male’s cheek. Momentarily, Siwon forget who he is as he stares into the warm eyes of the bodyguard. Frowning at the unknown feeling, he pushes it aside and smirks.

“I’ll be back. Possibly for you, but mainly to finish him off.” Siwon says, referring to Sungjin, who is knocked out on the toilet. “Have fun trying to wake him,” He adds. And with a flirtatious wink, he quickly gets off of Hankyung and is out the doors of the bathroom.

Hankyung blinks as he stays unmoving on the cold floor. He listens to his heart beating in a strange rhythm, and then gets up with a start while cursing in his mother tongue. He rushes over to Sungjin and checks for a pulse and breathing before he pulls the young male up and maneuvers out of the bathroom.

He swears, if he sees that guy again, he’ll show him just how “cute” he can be.

+++++++++++++++++++++++

Jaejoong hurriedly runs up the stairs, his steps echoing in the empty staircase. “One more floor to go.” He mutters. He couldn’t risk taking the elevator and meeting into people who would start question him. He also didn’t like mingling with strangers.

As he rounds another set of steps, he doesn’t notice that another person is coming down the stairs. The two people collide.

“Ow damn it!” Jaejoong shouts, rubbing his nose and forehead. He regains his balance and shoots an annoyed glare to the person before him.

“Ow… sorry about that. Are you okay?”

Jaejoong’s eyes widen as the oh-so-familiar voice rings in his mind. His sight becomes blurry as he looks up to the face of the other male. The strong nose, sharp eyes, beautiful lips and recognizable body…

“Yunho…?” His voice was distant and small. It couldn’t be… dead people don’t come back to life.

“Yes? Do I know you?” Yunho says, eyes raking up the raven-haired beauty. His heart thuds painfully with an unknown emotion; he winces and grasps his shirt, the area just above the heart. Random images of people he has never met flash before his eyes, most of them containing the male before him. He sways on the spot and grips the railing with his free hand. “Who are you?” He whispers, eyes unfocused and staring into Jaejoong’s wide startled ones.

“Yunho…” Jaejoong mutters, eyes flooding with unshed tears. He reaches out in time to catch the taller male, but the weight is too much and Jaejoong lands on his butt with Yunho in his arms. But he ignores the pain, as his eyes never leave the male before him. He caresses the familiar cheeks and nose; he traces the lips and looks into the confused eyes.

“I know you… but why?” Yunho says, looking up at Jaejoong. The gentle touches coming from the unknown man left his heart beating with excruciating pain. He groans and clutches his chest again. “Get… get away from me.” Yunho mutters, trying not to be bothered by the hurt look in Jaejoong’s eyes.

“You’re Yunho… you are Yunho…” Jaejoong murmur’s, incredible happiness flowing through him. “You… I thought I lost you forever. But you’re here, you’re alive.” His tears roll down his pale cheeks as Yunho pushes himself away and gets unsteadily to his feet. He clutches the area above his heart as he looks at the crying beauty. “I-I’m sorry…” he mutters as he stumbles down the stairs. For what he was sorry for, he wasn’t sure.

Jaejoong sits there, tears rolling down his cheeks. He smiles, despite the fact that his heart aches and that Yunho has left him to cry.

“You’re alive… I don’t know how… but you’re alive and that’s all that matters.” Jaejoong whispers, his voice laced with shock and determination. He wipes his tears. “And I’m not going to loose you again.”

+++++++++++++++++++++++++

“We meet again? Is it fate or just coincidence?”

Kibum tenses as he hears that familiar voice again. He slowly turns around to face a smiling Changmin, leaning against the desk and looking Kibum… in ways it should be illegal.

“What are you doing here?” Kibum hisses, eyes narrowing. He takes steps back as Changmin takes steps forward.

“I told you we’d meet again, it just happened to be sooner then expected.” Changmin says, smiling innocently. Kibum gulps nervously, whether out of fear of meeting this man again, or the fact that the said man looked very dashing in that suit… he didn’t know.

“Get out. This room is off limits to the likes of you.” Kibum says, trying to keep his voice firm. Changmin chuckles and the fake bravado.

“I didn’t catch your name the last time we met.” Changmin murmurs, smirking when Kibum has nowhere to run. The documents in Kibum’s hands fall to the floor as Changmin pushes him roughly against the shelves behind him.

“Like I’ll tell you.” Kibum hisses, reminding himself that his man is a killer, an intruder.

“That hurts.” Changmin says, pouting. “Well, I’ll be nice. My name is Changmin.” He whispers against Kibum’s ear, causing the smaller male to blush madly and hold back a moan. “And you should stop wearing such hideous suits.”

Kibum frowns at the random remark. “Why?”

Changmin smirks and brushes his lips teasingly against Kibum’s cheek, “Because it makes me want to rip them off of you so that you’ll be stark naked. I’m 99.9% sure that you’ll look better naked then wearing something like this.” He trails a finger down Kibum’s chest for emphasis.

“P-pervert.” Kibum stutters. “Get away from me.”

Changmin chuckles. “I want to… this is bad for me.” He leans down and licks Kibum’s jaw line. “But you tempt me just by standing there and wearing this ugly suit.”

Kibum’s body heats up and before he can retort, warm soft lips capture his in a rough kiss.

Who knew that working for a million-dollar company could result in this?
