Rating: Pg-13 (I might raise it later on…)
Summary: The heirs of the million-dollar company LS Inc. are in life threatening situations. A rival company wants them killed and dealt with, so when the current CEO dies, nobody will be able to take over. What happens when people start to fall for the wrong people? Which company will crumble and which one will be left standing?
“Are you serious?” Ryeowook whispers, clutching the flowerpot to his chest and his eyes widening. He looks over to the silent male sitting in the corner of the flower shop.
Sungmin follows his gaze. “Yeah… he took a bullet… and won’t listen to me when I told him to go to the hospital.” He frowns as he thinks back to this morning.
(That morning…)
Sungmin groans as he slowly wakes from his sleep. Stretching his arms, he gets up and rubs his eyes. Frowning when he smells something unusual drifting from the hallway, he combs his hair down and opens the door.
“Breakfast…?” Sungmin mumbles, blinking furiously. It was rare, very rare, for him to wake up to the smell of food in the morning. Since he is the one who usually makes it.
“Must be Sungjin…” He murmurs, mind still clouded with sleep.
Taking a detour to the bathroom, he washes his face. As soon as the cool water meets his skin, the events from last night hit him. He gasps and rushes out of the bathroom and leans against the side of the railing, water dripping down his cheek and chin.
Kyuhyun. Bullet.
He sprints down the stairs and skids to a halt at the kitchen. There was Kyuhyun, dressed in black, while sipping a cup of coffee and leisurely seated at the table. The younger male looks up and meets Sungmin’s alarmed eyes. He nods in acknowledgment and gets up while motioning for Sungmin to sit.
Sungmin stands there, mind blank and heart beating rapidly. Kyuhyun didn’t look like an injured man at all! The said man was currently leaning against the counter of the kitchen and watching Sungmin with that dark, emotionless gaze.
“A-are you… the shoulder…” Sungmin mumbles, blushing profusely and fidgeting on the spot. He timidly looks up and his heart skips a beat. Something about Kyuhyun piercing gaze left him breathless and nervous.
“Eat before the food gets cold.” Kyuhyun says, voice cool and controlled. And ignoring Sungmin’s question. The blushing male quietly obeys and sits down. He then notices the food on the table - a western style: toast, eggs and orange juice.
“T-thank you.” Sungmin says, stomach growling from the aroma. The kitchen is filled with silence as Sungmin eats; the morning rays spilling into the room. “Have you eaten?” Sungmin asks, licking his lips as he finishes his breakfast. It’s been a while since he’s eaten food cooked by another person, and it surprised him that Kyuhyun knew how to cook.
“I’ve eaten. Could you direct me to where the medical kit is? I need to change my bandages.” Kyuhyun says. Sungmin nods quickly. He moves to put his dishes away and runs upstairs to fetch the kit.
“Do you need help?” Sungmin asks as he hands the white box to Kyuhyun, who is sitting on the couch in the living room.
Kyuhyun hesitantly nods and without warning, pulls his shirt off, leaving him half naked. Sungmin doesn’t know whether to drool and ogle at the sexy chest, or be horrified at how red and painful the wound looks. The bandages are stained with red, telling them that the wound was opening and bleeding.
Emotionless and swift, Kyuhyun removes the current wraps around his shoulder. His brow twitches when the bandage clings to the wound and he has to rip it off. Sungmin gulps as he watches, his hands holding the fresh bandages.
“Here.” Sungmin says, kneeling and wiping the dry blood off with a cloth. He doesn’t seem to notice how Kyuhyun’s gaze softens as the bodyguard watches him clean the shoulder. Silently and efficiently, Sungmin cleans up the wound and wraps the fresh bandages around the shoulder.
“Do- do you need any painkillers? Is it bothering you? The wound that is…” Sungmin asks, his eyes darting to the wounded shoulder. Kyuhyun just shakes his head and gets up. Sungmin blushes as he realizes Kyuhyun is still shirtless, his heart thumps with an emotion he isn’t used to.
“No. But thank you.” Kyuhyun says, cool and calm like always. “And you need to go to work soon, am I correct?”
Sungmin’s eyes widen as he looks towards the living room clock. He yelps as he sees the time and runs clumsily upstairs. He grabs his keys, bag and is down the stairs like lightning.
“Your clothes…” Sungmin mumbles, blinking as Kyuhyun has produced a gray jacket from nowhere. “They arrived this morning with my other belongings.” The younger replies, “I’ve put them in the spare room.”
Sungmin nods and steps out of the house with Kyuhyun following him. Again, his heart beats erratically as he feels the warm body heat of the other behind him with every step he takes. He lets out a small sigh. It’s only been two days with the silent guard, and yet why is he so affected by the man’s presence? It’s as if… he’s falling for him.
Sungmin shakes his head to clear his thoughts. He needs to stop watching those soap operas and reading his romance novels. Other thoughts invade his mind as he walks the bustling morning streets.
Who attacked them last night? And why?
Biting his lips in alarm and fright, Sungmin takes a peek behind him to see Kyuhyun staring straight ahead with a blank look. As last night’s encounter replays in his head, Sungmin suddenly feels grateful and relieved that Kyuhyun was there for him. If not for the bodyguard, he would probably be dead right now. His body only to be found in the shower when either Sungjin or his father comes home - which was practically never.
Shuddering at how close he came to death, the two men continue walking towards the small flower shop.

“So… it seems like there’s going to an international business party tonight, held in the LS building.” Siwon says, pouring himself a mug of black coffee. “We can go in and finish what you guys didn’t do tonight.”
“Tonight? Isn’t that a bit soon?” Changmin voices, munching on a bag of chips. “I mean, with what happened yesterday and, as you said, international business men coming. They’re security is going to be even more tight.”
Siwon rubs his temples. “Like it or not, we have no say in this. Mr. Kim wants us to move tonight.”
“He’s a damn vulture, I say we just drop this assignment.” Jaejoong mutters. “And have you searched about Kyuhyun? What the hell is he doing?”
Siwon grimaces and produces a piece of paper. “It seems like Kyuhyun has been hired as a bodyguard for one of the sons...”
“Already knew that.” Jaejoong says. Siwon ignores him and continues. “…and it looks like he was hired about a year ago.”
Jaejoong’s eyes narrow. “A year ago? But we only got this assignment a few weeks ago. Why…”
Siwon shrugs and puts the paper down on the counter. “That’s what confuses me. It isn’t like he knew that we were going to get this mission…” He sighs, exhausted. “I don’t know. All we can do is wait and see what happens.”
“What happens? It’s going to get us killed is what’s going to happen. Just corner him tonight and make him tell us.” Jaejoong says, eyes blazing and determined. “I hate liars, but I hate backstabbers the most. And if he’s betraying us because of this, I swear I’ll kill him.”
Changmin rolls his eyes, knowing that there really isn’t any venom behind his hyung’s words. Siwon just sighs again and leans against the counter in thought.
“Well, Junsu isn’t going to be able to come with us. His wound has to heal. I’m surprised he was able to talk.” Yoochun says, carrying a tray of an empty bowl and glass. “He’s out cold right now.”
Siwon nods. “It’ll just be the 4 of us. Changmin you know what to do. And… Yoochun, take care of the elder of the sons, I’ll take the younger one.”
Jaejoong frowns. “The elder was my target.” Siwon calmly meets Jaejoong’s heated gaze. “You get into the mainframe and let Yoochun take care of it. I think you need to cool your head, cause I’m positive your going to do something stupid.”
Jaejoong just humf’s and marches to his room, slamming his door for emphasis. Changmin chuckles as Siwon rolls his eyes.
“Siwon… about Yunho…” Yoochun starts. So far, everyone knew about his encounter with the supposedly dead male, except for Jaejoong.
Changmin’s chuckles die down as his face turns into a thoughtful frown. Siwon sips his coffee with an eerie grace as Yoochun looks at the floor with mixed emotions.
“Let’s just hope Jaejoong doesn’t run into him.” Siwon mutters, patting Yoochun’s shoulder and walking to his office.

“A party?” Sungmin says, holding his cell phone to his ear. He was watering the plants in the shop when his father phoned.
“Yes, I need you and Sungjin to come tonight. The international branches are meeting together, and we’ve decided to do it here in Korea this year.” His father’s says.
“Oh, well okay. Is it a formal thing?” Sungmin says, pouting. He hates wearing suits. He hears his father’s rare laugh coming from the phone - a sign that his father was in a good mood, which means he just made a good contract with another company.
“Yes Sungmin, wear a suit. Or at least look decent.” His father says. They then bid goodbye and hang up.
“What’s with the pout Sungmin?” Ryeowook asks, walking past him with an armful of tulips. Sungmin purses his lips and puffs out his cheeks. “I have to wear a suit.”
Ryeowook laughs and walks away, he was aware of his friends dislike to formal wear. “What? They’re really uncomfortable and boring!” Sungmin whines. His eyes then drift over to the silent male by the corner of the shop. He swore his eyes were playing tricks on him, for he saw a smile, a small smile, grace the icy males lips. But as quickly as the smile came, it disappears with a blink of the eyes.
“Well… you’d better go and buy one later. Cause I’m sure you burned the last one right?” Ryeowook says, giving Sungmin a playful smile.
Sungmin sticks his tongue out at his friend and continues to water the flowers and plants. He sighs. He hated suits, but he also hated business parties.
