Cross another off the list

1.) Lifetime
2.) Murder City Devils
3.) Jawbreaker

If the first two have happened the next isn’t completely out of the question, right? Bauermeister and Schwarzenbach could have made amends since the last show in Olympia at the Capitol Theater. A girl can dream at least.

The Devils played a great set, though they didn’t play several of my favorite songs. The pit was intense and I had to leave during the second song. It’s been several years since I’ve come out of a pit bleeding. It was only a small wound but it still sounds tough to say “I was in the pit for Murder City and came out bloodied.” I'm thinking about trying to sneak my way into to the Showbox tonight to see another set. I am aware how incredibly packed that venue you will but it would be worth it to see "Ready For More" or "Johnny Thunders" or "I'll Come Running" live. I'll wear my official shoes of the rock-n-roller instead of ballet flats and maybe a pair of jeans could be rustled up. Yeah, that should work.

Post Block Party, Josh and I headed off to Luke's. By "headed off to" I mean we walked one block up from the main stage to his amazing loft. There were probably about 12 of us trying to drink the remaining 2/3 of a keg of Pabst. We were not successful. It was a strange but glorious night. Josh and I fell in love...with Brooklyn. Brooklyn is the best dog ever. He's the size of a small puppy and acts like one as well. He's seriously the cutest canine I've seen in a long while. I was tempted to steal him. I also now have a reason to by a gaming system. Guitar Hero. It's a video game that I don't suck at!! I didn't think that those existed. I've never beat Mario Brothers. I do have the excuse that I've never had a gaming system other than my computer but it's still a sad mark to have on my record. I really need to spend more time with Luke considering he has Star Wars Micro Machines set up on his stereo system, a tattoo of the 4 F's, and a bookshelf featuring Vonnegut, Bukowski and Orwell that he admits would be more full except that he gives most of his books away. I ended up staying there way later than I would have liked but c'est la vie. 6 AM is as good a time as any to get home. Plus I made a couple of new friends. Female friends. It was a good night.

EDIT: Showbox > Block Party. So tired as I skulk off to work on 3 hours sleep.
