I'm still raising my glass, waiting to say, "Cheers!!"
It's been two weeks already since the release of Cheers!!, and I still haven't seen Masa ranking in the Oricon Top 50 albums. :( Therefore, a thorough search has been initiated!
Oricon Daily Ranking: March 4, 2009 (actual day of release) [debut at #41]
Oricon Daily Ranking: March 5, 2009 (second day) [climbed 3 notches up to #38]
Oricon Daily Ranking: March 6, 2009 [dropped out of the Top 50]
Masa failed to join the Oricon Weekly Top 50, though. DD': He's not even in the Oricon Weekly Top 100! I AM HONESTLY DEVASTATED. If not for the consolation that is a #41 debut on the day of release, I would have seriously cried. T____T On a brighter look at things, at least he charted for 2 days, and his debut rank is quite impressive for a first full-length album. I guess, deep inside, I wanted him to chart with the great artists and shine for a bit longer, and that's it. :(
Everything's still good, though! I remember reading this comment on my sharing post: it's his first full album after all , He still has a long period to improve even better :) Yes, Cheers!! is a first. Sometimes I fail to remember that Masa's just starting out, because it feels like I've been following him for a long time already! Masa's emerging career has made him experience success and failure, and I have witnessed only a portion of it as a seven-month-old fan. The way he defied odds in order to reach his dream, the way he failed and stood back up in front of a thousand fans, Masa's way to success has touched me so much... CHANGED me so much, even up to the point that I can still write something as sappy as this with a crazy headache! What more for the people who has followed him since his Tenimyu days? Surely I am only a meager fan starting out~ ♥;;
Masa's path to the height of his dreams still looks good, albeit the hurdles and hardships that he must face. I wish him more success, and a healthy amount of learning experiences. May you continue shining like the star that you are, Nakagauchi Masataka!
