I am still alive, I promise
I am terrible about updating this thing. I'm pretty sure no one actually reads my LJ entries anyway, so I'm not too terribly bothered. But, if you do, here's what's been going on.
I did a bunch of research this summer for my thesis and all of it turned out to a great lot of nothing. I still have two more experiments to complete this fall before I can start writing, but I have to recollect my salamanders and it hasn't been cold enough or wet enough to do so. I hope I can get them all by mid-October and then crank out my two experiments before winter break so that I can start writing my thesis around then.
Yesterday I went to a conference and gave my first talk. It went really well, besides the absolute clusterfuck of a morning leading up to getting us to the conference an hour late. But everything worked out alright in the end!
I'm looking into Ph.D. programs and am going to start emailing potential advisors probably this week. It's pretty nervewracking but I hope I'll hear back from at least a few of them.
I was pretty sick a few weeks ago and am still recovering, but other than that everything is going pretty well.
