Okay, so. I spent practically all weekend in a scout event that's all about BEING ONLINE AND TALKING WITH PEOPLE. Just how awesome is that? Okay, maybe not so awesome anymore when I already have plenty of online friends, but pretty awesome nonetheless. The first time I was just so thrilled about that. Except, our group was in this one school and because my LJ is my secret world, I couldn't really hang on here while all my friends were watching. So, eh. Been online 14 hours this weekend and only one "freely" where I want.
Reetta: Is there any word for a male whore?!
S: Rentboy. *in one second flat*
S: *blush* And in Finnish, rattopoika for example. Though that's terribly oldfashioned.
SISTER K: Me and her have a really good vocabulary for this kind of stuff!
But we had fun. I also talked to someone who lives near London and could give me great tips for our coming trip there in July. And there were plenty of Australians and Dutch.
It's always fun to compare scouting customs with people from abroad. When today later I had a meeting for "adult leaders" we talked for example about sexuality and how the approach to that is so different for example in England, where (we think) the leaders are adviced to not for example play any games where they'd have to touch the kids. For us... that's just ridiculous. Also, the idea of boys and girl sleeping in separate tents...
Please excuse me while I go fall asleep on my dinner.
