See you later

I'm sure most of us have done it at some point. There's someone who you'll probably never see again, but as you leave you instinctively blurt out "see you later". As embarrassing as it can be after you realize it, at the same time it's always been something that piqued my curiosity. I was reminded of that all when I had someone say it to me a few days ago.

It's strange how much of a reflex it is to say, even if it doesn't quite make sense.

I felt like I had a bunch more stuff to say about all that, going into the evolution of greetings/farewells and communication in general, but I'm drawing a blank at the moment. I guess it'll take some getting used to getting back into the swing of posting on a regular basis.

And of course, this post wouldn't be complete without the requisite "see you later".
