Yeargh. My mother left last tuesday, but I'm just now recovering from a week of having my mother in town to help me repaint the kitchen and make drapes. I think we worked 18 to 20 hours each day -- we barely slept, that's for sure.
This is the "before" shot. See the "sponge painting?" To many of my local friends and acquaintances I have likened this color of paint to baby puke.
This is the "after." I'm hoping to get a new laminate counter top by the end of the year. The tiled one we have now is missing grout in enough places that I can't call it sanitary by any means.
And this is a close-up of what A has been calling "the touch-down chicken" a.k.a. the kitchen mascot.
Here are a few shots including the drapes we made for the living room, lined with blackout fabric. Please ignore the most uncomfortable couches in the world (I do, constantly). My husband tells me they'll be gone by next week.
And lastly, for everyone's enjoyment, PUPPIES SLEEPING!
That's Elwood there, all wrapped up.
Since we're on a home improvement roll, we also got furniture to replace another of the world's most uncomfortable couches downstairs, but I've already nicked the finish on our coffee table, so I'm off to the hardware store -- where they know me by name now -- so I can fix it. Ta ta for now!
